I recently installed the new version of the 3tpam in my 21 Taco, followed the installation video linked on the Expedition Essentials web site. I ended up in a situation where the wiring cover didn't fit well:

I tried shifting the wiring cover side to side, but couldn't get it to line up properly. I reached out to Expedition Essentials by email.

In less than a day my phone rang and it was Jeff. He spent some time talking to me and gave me instructions to fix the fit of the wiring cover. I also called him back with some follow up questions. I ended up with a perfect fit and was very happy with the support I received.

Here is what I had to do (embarrassed I didn't see it on my own):
    • Remove the wiring cover
    • Loosen the screws on the main body, shift it slightly towards the rear of the Taco. Re-tighten.
    • Slightly bend the ends of the wiring cover down (it's aluminum, just a small tweak. Got out of whack when I tightened it down too far forward)
    • Re-install wiring cover
Also really liked the Posi-taps included to tap the power. I purchased some extras for future Taco projects.

Happy to help Burt, if you ever need anything else don't hesitate to reach out; those posi taps are awesome; something we adopted on recommendation from one of our customers!

I just ordered a 3TPAM directly from their website - on sale too! Can’t wait to receive it and install it!

    Happy Holidays!

Does anyone know if there is a way to wire this into the head unit instead of the cigarette lighter?

Purchased Toyota Certified, with Vijay bumpers, additional lights, and Falken Wildpeaks on Fuel rims. Prev owner apparently painted the grill.
You can power the USB ports from anywhere you would like to tap 12V. I ran a wire directly to the battery so I can (judiciously) use the charge ports while the truck is off. It just took a few more minutes of fiddling to get the wire run.
