I have been searching since I bought my ‘17 to get a nice pair of tow mirrors. I currently have the stock mirrors with signals and heated glass.

I can not find any bolt on replacements of any sort. I don’t want to ghetto rig some abortion to the truck either. I just bought some strap on ones for cheap but I worry they will damage my stock mirrors or damage the colour matched covers. Plus I read one review of a similar type that stained the painted surface from the oils in the rubber straps. He couldn’t get the stains out regardless of what he used.

If anyone has any suggestions for mirrors it would be appreciated. Like I already said I am not interested in ghetto mods or Frankenstein abortions.

Look in A1 Auto. They have plug and play mirrors with heaters, 4 way adjustments, and they flip up

Checked A1 Auto and they have nothing. Are you sure they have them for a 3rd gen?

Thats the issue I keep finding. Options for 2nd gen but I have yet to find anything for the 3rd. Ideally I would love a set of colour matched, heated, signal light, electric adjustable flip up mirrors. If I had to settle for generic black so be it but there are literally no options I have found yet.

My next option is to talk to a friend and see if his 3D printer can do something as large as the colour matched covers and pop off the stock cover and have a new cover installed that I can bolt on the strap type mirror permanently to that cover. Therefore pop off my white cover and on the mirrors cover and back as needed.

Buy some 3M Clearbra and apply it to protect your paint then go the clipon route. K-Source clipons have good reviews, they have a ratchet strap that keeps them stable. I bought a pair but didn't use them since I went to a 7' wide trailer and don't need extended mirrors. Gave them to my neighbor with his 8' wide and a 2012 Tacoma. He likes them.

I tried a few strap on brands and were not happy with them. I ended up spending a little more and got the Dometic clamp on style. They are adjustable in length and have a large mirror. Replacement parts are available too. They vibrate some at highway speeds but not bad or any worse than other makes. Glad I decided to spend a little more and get a way better mirror.

My fear is damage to the colour matched mirror covers. Not sure if the clamp on style will be better or worse in regards to this. There doesn’t seem to be much space for the clamp between the glass and the housing. I am going to try the strap on style I bought in the spring and go from there. Hopefully a true bolt on tow mirror to replace the stock mirror will become available in time.

I have the rubber strap kind from Amazon. I passed a truck on a 2 lane highway and the mirror folded to the truck. I was surprised the straps didn't break before it folded back

I went with the same ones. The clamps held SOLID over a 2400 mile trip towing a camper at mostly 70MPH. Vibration was definitely there at that speed, but below about 60MPH, it was not very bad at all. I would recommend them gladly!
