3rd party company check out truck, Buying sight w/out seeing

I am a far distance and looking to buy a truck in Spartanburg S.C. Problem is i cannot see this truck because of distance and will have the truck shipped to northern states for under $1000. Only problem is I am worried about it being a write off and being rebuilt as I am bringing it to Canada and they will not safety it. Truck is low mile and a 2010 so Iam not worry about the mechanical part because of the Warranty. Does anybody know of a 3rd party who can check this truck out for me at a small cost?

 

Might be worth a plane ticket to fly down and take a look at what you're buying...

 

I would think a bunch of TW members would have a meet & greet and the location of this truck. How sick would that be to have about 6 to 12 people looking over a truck that's been inspected by members for a member? Just a thought. Would be sweet though.

You could fly down for less then $500, and if you like it drive it back.
Make a long weekend out of it, and save some money. I know it's a bit of a drive home (2 - 12 hour days, but it'll allow you to get to know your truck).
If you were going to spend $1000 to ship it (and you still have to drive to the Northern States to pick it up) you'll be ahead of the game.

Even if you find a 3rd party company and/or have TW memebers look it it, your idea of "OK" and my idea of "OK" are probably different.

I live in Ontario and was just at a dealer in PA who is willng to sell me a new Tacoma (this will be the 2nd new one I bought from them).
The savings are significant, and I have no worries as it is brand new with warranty.

Neat idea. Anyone that requests an inspection elsewhere should be willing to return the favor by inspecting in his/her own area. And inspectors should allow the OP first right of refusal and not try to buy any good deals out from under him...

 

Have the VIN number emailed to you.

Do a carfax and carpoof report on it.

Also ask around on here and see if anyone nearby can go and check it
out for you.

 

Have seller take it to the dealer and have it inspected
