After a 5 month wait from LCE i finally recieved my 3rz blower and doug thorley headers.
I daily drive a 1997 2wd manual trans 4runner since my armored 2nd gen taco on 33s gets dismal mileage.
Since i drive this runner 80% of the time i decided i would add some fun factor.
Got the headers on first which sound nice and gave more of a power increase than i expected and have the blower hung but am still trying to organize all of the vacuum lines and other stuff how i want.
Im just going to run the 4.5 psi pulley due to the mileage on this engine although it runs great it did just hit 200k.
I do have another engine i plan on rebuilding eventually as i know supercharging a 25 year old truck isnt the smartest.
Was wondering if any one had any tips, tricks or musts for this install.
Lce claims the stock plugs are fine for low boost but every other trd blower ive installed has had a step colder.

I'm interested to see if you feel difference and how you like it. I'm really interested in getting one for my 3rz 4runner manual.

Definitely want to hear about the differences in power and economy. Ive heard mixed opinions on forced induction fuel economy, be cool to see it tested on a 3rz

So i have it installed now and have one full tank of fuel through it. The install was pretty straightforward although i had to stretch the wire loom a bit more than i liked. Honestly i was a little underwhelmed at first but i was subconsciously comparing it to the other trd blower i have which is on a 4.7 v8 which had a dramatic increase in power.
However as the computer learns it is running better and better and it really shines in the hills. I can hold one gear instead of constantly downshifting up some pretty good grades. I got 19.3 mpg on my first tank of fuel and that included alot more spirited driving than usual my typical mileage is between 20-23 mpg condition dependent
Its made my daily driver alot more fun to drive and i am definitely going to add the smaller pulley and fuel modifications. at some point and squezze a little more out of it. I may add a cai for the sole purpose of hearing the blower as i love that whine but the stock airbox really muffles it.

Any updates on the 3RZ supercharger? I also have a 3RZ/5 speed 4Runner, been thinking about some additional hp...
