So what are we supposed to gap the plugs at? And NGK a decent brand for the tacoma? Last time I changed plugs in my track car I used NGK still have no problems. I still havent changed mine on my 07.. 50k almost 51k miles... maybe i should do this so I can get 14mpg instead of 12.. haha... damn tires and lack of gears! :]

20.00 a plug - i wish. My other vehicle uses plugs at 27.50 each and there are 12 of them and those aren't the good ones. But it goes 180 mph and in a straight line from A to B - no roads required.

On the other hand they last 100,000 miles, more or less.

    Everythings reletive , I guess.

Put a set of very oddball plugs into my othe 4x4...the ignition wire screws to the top of the plug, sealed for fording streams and EFI.

For a flat head dodge is a old military truck.

I thought they were high at $10 each.

Just changed my plugs at 88K, gaps were at .055 Densos and .060 NGKs. Didn't realize these weren't 100kers ! Got the long life Densos. $9 at Advanced Auto but used a $10 off $50 coupon I printed online and got them out the door for $46.

    These come pregapped.

Formula One engine spark plugs are about $50 each. $20 is getting too close.

But what gap are these plugs supposed to work best at, the factory spec for the vehicle they are used in (they are not just for our Tacoma) or are they designed for their factory gap of .044?

I assumed the latter, they had little plastic tube protectors to protect the factory gap. I checked them and they were around .044-.045 so that's where I left them. I agree, doesn't hurt to check at that point.

Truck runs MUCH better under load now. I'm sure my mpg will go up now after my foopa of missing the 30K thing in the manual. Shame on me for that, I wouldn't recommend it and hope my coils haven't been taxed. But, hey, it's a Toyota....
