The least it will do is get you back to your stock mileage. When you put on the lift and heavier tires you gained weight, wind resistance and changed your RPM to MPH.
The gears will make it as if the new tires are the stock height just heavier, they won't do anything for the added resistance from raising your truck. When you went with a taller tire it made your gears act numerically smaller/a higher gear. Now by insatlling Numerically higher/lower gears it will revert back to stock depending on the gears you choose. My truck as an example. Stock gears are 3.73 I added tires 33" tall, gears now feel like they are 3.50. To counter act that I can insatll some 4.10 gears which will, due to the tires act almost like 3.73's again. Putting my truck back to stock.

I would assume your truck right now feels as if it has some 3.25ish gears because of the 35s.
Rough estimates but will give you an idea.
will feel like 3.58's with 4.10
will feel like 3.98's with 4.56
will feel like 4.26's with 4.88

I can't promise better gas mileage with any of these but if you get it closer to 3.73 you will be better than you are now. You have to try and keep your truck in its power band. That will depend on the driving you do as much as the gears and tires.

That's what i was thinking. I put 33's on mine and just want it to drive as if it was stock again. I lost my torque on the hills to flagstaff when i put the 33's on it. Does anyone but toyota sell 4.10's? I know the 4 cylinder 4x4 tacos come stock with 4.10's but they are 800 per axle.

higher rpm's dont always mean less mpg

with my 33's and stock gearing i get better gas mileage driving at 2500 rpm on the freeway. around town 5th gear is bogged to i drive in 4th at over 2k and UG shows me getting 6-7 mpg better than i would if driving in 5th gear

You could always shop around here for some used 4.10 gears thats where I got mine. Haven't installed them yet but I have them. The 4 cylinder guys normally regear once they start wheeling.

    Thread revival:
Don't listen to the low gear propaganda. I put 4.10s in my truck and I fucking hate them. I spent 2k on gears and another 2k on parking brake cables, new rear wheel bearings, and other shit that was crusty and wouldn't come apart nice and now I would have to spend another 2k to get back to where I was. For 6k I woulda rather bought a supercharger and left the gears alone. I have 33 inch tires (32.6) and hit 2500 rpm at 80 mph which is where the truck starts eating fuel like crazy. Also, it's too low to run a decent speed on 4th gear so it's actually worse for towing. If I had 3.73's in 4th gear at 65 I would be around a comfy 2600 rpm instead of 3k which is really to high to cruise in. As for off-road, what the hell else is a t case for, and I always end up wishing my low range box went faster l, because I have never actually needed all the power of 1st in when in low range.

    Summary:
Worst and most expensive mistake I have made 're my truck. Maybe 4.10's would be good with 35's but with 33's not.
