4 cyl manual transmission owners

I took a 2017 4 cylinder manual for a test drive.It was a 4 x4 SR. I thought first gear was pretty low.
When I used to drive truck for a living we always started out in second gear as first was low gear used for very heavy loads or hills.
Is this also true with these Tacoma's Do you find yourself starting off in second gear routinely?

 

I do not. Unless I'm already rolling.

I do get out of first pretty quick, though. Because the gear is low.

I spend most of my time in fourth.

 

No 2nd gear is too tall to take off from a stop without slipping the shit out of the clutch.

 

Always start out in first but not in it very long.
