    Those are pretty amazing numbers for the mods you listed. Do you know what kind of dyno they used? Stock highway tires I assume.

    I’m not certain on the type of dyno. I think it’s similar to dynojet? I don’t know for certain. But yes those numbers were from the stock tire size 265/65r17 pulls done in 3rd gear.

    Cheapest way is probably to gut it and drop your choice of Chevy V8 drivetrain in there.

    About 7-10k depending on if you know how to pull an engine yourself and engine swap for a 350. 350 crate engine can run you anywhere up to 10k itself based on what you want and how built you want it. You won't get 400hp out of a 4.0

    There is guy in the turbo BS thread, whom probably has the cheapest 4.0 turbo build, with tuning.

    Was it worth it, at first no. As my thirst for knowledge grew, my turbo build evolved, I made good power, and gained invaluable experience. Now I use my truck on a road course. Absolutely worth it.

    If I were to do a Chevy swap, I'd still have to spend the coin to overcome the known failing points of that engine.

    People whom haven't delved into the 1GR, have little knowledge on its true capability as a performer.

    There is a guy with a twin turbo 1GR, pushing around 650 whp. With a T56 Magnum behind it.

    This sounds very intriguing I will check into this. Thanks for the info. I figured the 4.0 might be able to hit 400 but not without alot of time and money lol

    1FZ and 3RZ/2TR don't carry the JZ "tax". And can make more power. :D
