how hard would it be to get 400hp out of my 08 tacoma 4.0 auto
What parts would I need and how much money do you think it will be?

Turbo or Supercharger.. nitrous. ..fuel rails..
Run headers out the front quarter panel.
    Gut the interior.

Keep jacking the psi up untill you are blowing oil out of headgasket
Should last for a few runs.
    Rebuild motor start again.

You can't get 400 reliable horsepower from a 4.0L engine. If you want that kind of power I would consider a Ford Raptor.

    Check out this build:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/torspd-nevr.203482/

If you are having to ask for cost to get to 400hp, then the answer is going to be too much. The TRD blower is unlikely to get you there, you will need the URD blower or turbos.

Are you looking for 400 at the crank or at the wheels?

    A whole new engine.

Not sure what the point of that would be anyhow.

Trucks blow for racingand the Taco is too small and fragile to use it for 400hp of truck stuff.

I mean 400 hp at the crank, my truck is putting 348 down at the wheels so it’s gotta be pretty close to 400 crank hp. Maybe around 375 give or take some. I have:
Magnuson supercharger w/ 2.85 pulley, afe cold air intake, shortie headers, 3” exhaust, bigger fuel pump and it was tuned by OVTune.

If you really wanna do it you can’t have deep pockets and short arms. Gotta pay to play.
