Oh blarg. One of the easiest, most accessible place to mount it is to screw it to one end of plastic radiator shroud, but of course I'd be worried about weight and flexing.

Yeah, I've seen those. I would use some sort of reinforcement and use nuts and bolts (not screws) if I went near the shroud, or build a bracket over it. On the VW installs, they are going right into some plastic trim around the inside edge of the engine bay. That's what made me start wondering about weight.

There's also space over behind the airbox and cruise control on the passenger side, but I have Redline hood struts that sort of interfere over there (plus I'd like to save room for a compressor there), blah blah blah. I also just need to look for other existing bolts and perhaps piggyback on them with an aluminum extension. I just need to stare and poke for a while.

Hi everyone, found this group buy while doing some research on this catch can. I'm putting a kit together for a couple people. Looks like I've got 3 total committed (myself +2) so far, more might follow.

Joined the forum to post, so I'm sure I won't have the post count to message. But you can add 3 to your catch can count :)

Still gathering info from them. The kit I'm working on isn't for a Toyota. I just posted this thread's group buy info in the thread I started on another forum.
    http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/aston-martin/311828-aos-catch-can.html

BTW, I've got a 4.0L 4Runner... can you point me at the info I need to decide on a catch can for that? (Fitting sizes, mounting options and locations, etc.) I haven't looked into tinkering with it but now's as good a time as any!

    Oh boy...
im in just not sure on which one is better to get... whats the differece between the 2 stealth models. please keep in mind that i have very little experience with oil catch cans.

only want to buy one because after taking off my intake mainfold i found some oil on the top of the runners and a friend told me this catch can will eliminate that issue (is it really even an issue???)

Keeps your engine cleaner longer.

On a performance engine, it helps also helps prevent knock. As well as other things.

since im just a N/A engine do i really need to put 100+ dollars into an oil catch can or will the ebay ones be fine. i honestly dont understand the difference between the two and such high price fluctuations.

Do you buy other parts that are junk? Or do you buy quality parts?

You don't have to buy these. Buy whichever one you want. But when it starts leaking, you have hose fitment problems, cheap parts crack or don't seal, then you'll come to the realization that you get what you pay for.

I've known plenty of people to have purchased the eBay ones. They are usually made in China, and are junk. They end up saying that they had to do this and that to get it to work properly. Some just leak regardless.

You take a chance of buying the part twice, if it (the eBay one) doesn't work the first time.

The info I posted in this link (quoted below) is for another car, but the basics are all the same. Covers some basics about oil catch cans.
