It's good got a little scuffed. Was kinda bummed because it was literally the first week I had it but it saved my ass from more damage.

    A few updates-

Replaced the TRD oiled filter with a Pro Dry S for easier cleaning between trips
    [IMG]

Installed the ARB twin compressor and 1-gal tank with custom bracket from @bandi. Thanks @MJonaGS32 for the wiring help!

    Did rear diff relocation
    [IMG]

Also discovered how badly I need to install the gas tank skid that's been sitting in the garage for two months

For Labor Day weekend, met up with @w3tw0rks, @jAndyMendo and a few others to check out some trails in the Eastern Sierras.

Total group damage for the weekend:
    1 slashed tire
    1 skewered tire
    1 mudflap/fender flare
    1 high centered truck
2 trucks almost falling off the trail

    Totally worth it :bananadance:

First day, first casualty of the trip. @w3tw0rks slashed a sidewall on the way down to Laurel Lakes
    [IMG]

Met up with @jAndyMendo who came early and was saving a spot for us
    [IMG]

    Took some poser shots

Hit up a couple more trails and met up with a couple more rigs. Unfortunately the only group shot with everyone from the trip.

Took a side trail to visit the Bodie ghost town. Really interesting place- if you're in the area I'd definitely pay the $8 to check it out. Or you can drive through for free (which some in our group did since we needed to come through anyways to get to our next campsite).

Broke camp early the following morning.

Made quick haste up to our next viewpoint.

Ocassionally stopped to get our bearings and admire the view

Trail was pretty steep and narrow in some places. I would later slide down this cliff on the way back down :dizzy:

Took a trip through the Mojave Road with @w3tw0rks and @kalieaire to surprise @247daryl on his bday. Ran it in reverse (East-West) so we could hit Vegas for the weekend too.

    Mojave River crossing
    [IMG]

    Sand Cliffs
    [IMG]

    Union Pacific bridge
    [IMG]

Disaster struck as I hit the washes a little too hard, proceeded to shear the bolts off the roof top tent. Tent came crashing down and somehow stopped short of hitting the hood. @247daryl first comment: "why you trying to be like @jAndyMendo"

Unfortunately most of the hardware wasn't salvageable, everyone helped to cobble together a quick fix. 4 bolts ultimately lasted the rest of the trip home.

We lost about an hour or so because of this incident, so we stopped taking as many pics to save time. I was also reduced to a really slow pace because the fix (although it would ultimately hold the rest of the road) was pretty sketchy.

    Back on the road
    [IMG]

    Stopped by Traveler's Monument
    [IMG]

Took pics at the Mojave Mailbox but forgot to sign the guest book...

Visited the frog garden and other random figurines
    [IMG]

    Government Wells
    [IMG]

Forgot the name of this cabin
    [IMG]

Last night's campsite at Phallus Rock...I wonder how they got that name...

On the way out the following morning. There's probably more joshua trees here in the Mojave than in Joshua Tree NP
    [IMG]

I was pretty disappointed that the tent incident cost us so much time from the Mojave Road, but since it exposed a flaw in the weak bolts I can learn from my mistakes and build a stronger mounting system. Due to the varying terrain (rocks/sand/washes/etc.) it'll pretty much expose any weaknesses in your setup so I'm just glad we were able to fix the issue and continue on.

Yeah it would've been nice to have spare carriage bolts and plates. I'll be adding some to mine too.

Thanks man! As long as you go slow and don't draw in water above the fender you should be fine.

Yikes! I'll check it out. It wasn't muddy this time around though so we got lucky- most of it was water. I did manage to damage my front skid on some loose rocks on the bottom and damaged a breather line, but that's about it for this trip. I have a few things to fix before I go out again, hopefully everything goes smoothly on the next trip.

That's awesome haha (the playing in the crossing part, not the kicking out mud part). I've heard of the engine fan having problems on water crossings too so I'll keep an eye out on it next time. Have you tried pressure washing the underside?

Thanks man. Yep that's me! It's actually sold already, guy is trying to line up transport for it. Welcome to the other side! :headbang:
