Broke down and ordered up a 32gal fuel cell.

Considering the size, I figured I might as well get it in and make sure there's no conflict with the shock mounting. Fuel cell and shock mounts will likely be integrated anyway.

Started cutting the bed to make room for the shocks. :anonymous:

Yeah it basically came down to that as my only realistic option if I wanted the shocks to sit where I wanted them.

Better to have and not need, than to need and not have.

Trust me, there's 8 haha. And more to come. :anonymous:

BTW, does anyone know what to do about the foam in the fuel cell? There's a crap load of little pieces inside. Not sure if I should somehow clean the foam first, or buy a different brand of foam, or go the wiffle ball (or similar) approach?

I keep telling myself 'do it right, or not at all.' Believe me, I REALLY tried to make things work without cutting. But I had to in order to get shock placement I was looking for.

Plus, I f#%ked up on the axle end shock mounts by welding them on without mocking it up first. The axle didn't come with calipers and I didn't factor those in. I bought calipers today to test it out and as luck would have it, not only does the shock mounts sit where the calipers should, but the link mounts do as well!

I really don't want to cut the link tabs off, so I think my best option is to rotate the caliper mount flanges up. I may have to ditch the OEM parking brake but I'm okay with that. Losing that would mean less parts to deal with and install a driveline brake instead.

Don't even mess with a driveline brake. They are apparently pretty difficult to setup and never seem to work that great. I'd plumb some line locks in and not look back. I still need to install the line lock I bought

Or you can do the lever type if you want to use it for digs.

    FIFY :anonymous:

Is the line lock progressive? When I start on hills I like to ease off the ebrake while giving it a little gas so I don't roll back.

    Dafuq is a dig?
