Haha, there's plenty of room for bypasses right behind the coilovers. I haven't built the mounts for them yet. I left enough room in the notch of the V for bump stops.

Fuel cell is going right behind the cab, as low as the upper links will allow. Still trying to figure out the mounting for it. I saw the fuel cell thread on pirate but it didn't really help much.

Not entirely sure what you mean about the gusseting. You'd be surprised at how much dimple dies increase the strength/rigidity of the piece, plus I had some extra 1/4" thick 2-bolt tube flanges that I cut in half and used for the shock mounts. Extending the mount to the outside tube helps reduce torsional stress on the mounts too.

Sold it? Hell she would've already spent the money before I had a chance to even think about buying the stuff in the first place!

I'm starting to look around for wheels. Any suggestions on which route I should take? Get some weld on DIY beadlocks and keep them on the 40"s, and if I ever race the damn thing - Trail Ready wheels on the 37"s... or wait a bit and just go with the TR beadlocks and use them for both sets of tires?

Wouldn't one set of tires be a lot easier and cheaper in the long run? :notsure:

    EDIT
Would you even notice a gearing difference with 40s and 37s?

Yeah, but everyone and I mean EVERYONE told me to go with 40"s. Also, I'm pretty sure I bought them before I thought about conforming to U4 guidelines.

Keep an eye out for wheels for me.:D

    Mod class is 37"s max.

Trying to decide on wheels because I gotta get this thing rolling soon so I can put it in storage for the winter, that way I have garage space to park in. I'll spend the winter saving cash for parts and put the Tacoma back in the garage come spring.

At the absolute least, I could buy some shit wheels on CL to make this thing a roller until I can afford the $380 per wheel for the Trail Ready beadlocks

Having multiple sets of tires is fun. Get a set of 37s and race ready wheels and a set of bead locks for the 40s. Best of both worlds. It's just money

Yea screw it. I'm with mark. Keep the 40s for fun time and 37s for race. Not even sure how much you will race so might as well keep the 40s.

Yea just get some CL rims if all you are going to do is roll it into a storage unit.

10-4, thanks. Just posted this :D

I need your shitty wheels! Looking for a set of four 17" wheels with the 8x6.5 bolt pattern. Condition doesn't matter, I don't care how fugly they are, I just need them to hold air to make this project a roller until I have a chance to get Trail Ready beadlocks. I'm in Waukesha.
