I had some of the switches backwards in my head, but I re-read the not-so-great directions and finally figured out what I was supposed to do with the settings. First few practice beads to adjust the settings and a couple with adding filler wire. Not pretty, but a helluva lot better than anything I was able to do with a spool gun! The pulse and AC balance options are really nice and this seems like a pretty damned good machine so far. Makes me stoked to see what I can start working on.

Miracles do happen! I still have all the pieces I need for the dash. :anonymous:

I'm going to remove the rest of those vents and fit some aluminum switch panels wherever I can.

I also ordered up the ujoints and splined stubs I need to finish up the steering column from Casper, WY based http://www.woodwardsteering.com/

Hard to say, unfortunately. Seems every time I attempt to determine a time estimate, I'm obviously way off. :anonymous:

Honestly, the cost of the build is the biggest drag. On top of the obvious big dollar items, there's a metric shit-ton of small parts that really add up. Coupled with work, school, and family life.

For some semblance of a timeline -

-Finish the vast majority of body work/fabrication before putting the truck into storage for the winter. Probably a friend's barn.

-Collect parts and save cash for working on the engine during that time.

-Springtime, start putting the engine together and install plumbing.

-As time/money allow, keep buying/installing parts, especially 'accessories' that will determine the electrical needs/layout.

I can't foresee those things wrapping up before spring 2017. :(

I've been welding up the sheet steel upper portion of the firewall (lower portion will be removable aluminum panels) and getting the rest of it figured out. The down brace connecting the lower windshield bar to the frame is making the packaging a bit of a challenge, especially for the pedal setup.

Based on that and my rather expensive tastes , I'm left with running a Tilton 3-pedal assembly. Probably way nicer than I need, but to follow the hopeless train wreck of a money pit this build is, Tilton is the sure answer.

Top it off with an additional 3 master cylinders, throttle linkage, fluid reservoirs, hydraulic clutch bearing, and hoses... looking at ~$1,500 for the setup. :anonymous:

CNC is on the cheaper end, but not by much and has virtually no adjustability.
