I Like those trucks and any early 80s or late 80 toyota...Stock. Over lifted. All the lifted ones take it too far generally.

Leaving it a lone will be the greatest gift to humanity towards toyota.

Yeah, staying stock. DD/restoration project. Biggest change may be color, gears, seats... stuff like that. I like the height it's at, but the front springs have a slight negative arch that may need to be addressed.

3" Toytec spacers, Bilstein 5100s in the back with add a leaf and overloads removed.
I just think 35s would be good but its still nice stock. I wouldn't change a thing about it.

The floor of the bed has a couple places that need to be patched. Does that count? :luvya:

Just sayin I have a buddy that has one with 33s and 5.29s with OME full suspension on it and it is fun as hell! he wheels it some but dds it and the 5.29s on 33s gives it loads of low end torque

Got a closer look today and the tires could stand to be replaced. Still plenty of tread, but the sidewalls are cracking from age. Would love to put some BFG KO2s on it, 33"s would be nice, but unless I regear first, 31"s are probably my best bet. Looks like it sat in a barn forever, there's cobwebs all over the damn thing.

Gonna have to paint, as there's rust in/on the bed. I hate rust more than anything. Some of it is through the retro stripes. The stripes on the hood are completely faded. This site sells the retro stripes, so I'd definitely put them back on after paint.

Additionally, I'd like to get the Tacoma painted before it gets too cold out since most of the body work is done. Now that I have this Pickup... I like the idea of having them match. Whatever the color may be.

Paint, major repairs, fixing rust, etc. on the Pickup will wait til next summer. Gotta focus mainly on thr Taco right now.

There's a lot of colors/stripe combos that look damn good. Here's a few--

Man this build has made some good progress. You sure get distracted easily. I can break in that valve head for you.

Biggest distraction right now is school. :( That coupled with the lack of funds is what is killing this build progress.

Big changes to that soon I hope. I make a decent wage now as a tech on a hospital ortho/neuro unit, but it's nowhere near enough to make real progress. I'll be applying to the Sheriff's Dept (jail division) on their next hiring cycle. Pay is roughly double what I make now, and the 3 years of state corrections experience should help. :spy:

Mine is probably an even slower build. I maybe only drop about 5K into my truck a year. Drooling over the motor mods. Working for prison stuff is good money. I need to switch to a different company to fuel my addiction faster.
