No shit the trans bolts up to the 3RZ? :spy:

On another note, it was a resounding "No." for swapping in a steering wheel from a '76.

    What about an '81?? :luvya:

My wife hated my 80 Tercel I used to drive because it didn't airbags. I figured the rust "crumple" zones made up for it.

    Waiting for turbo 3rz swap..

My girlfriends Dad was shocked when he found out my 98 did in fact have air bags. Luckily I didn't have to experience them going off when I got rear ended.

Do you know what trans you have? I don't think all of them will bolt up but the w56 will. I'm running a w56 in my Tacoma actually.

W59, which IIRC is identical with the exception of different gear ratios

Busted CV boots and lots of squeaks.

I have been reading a lot on the Marlin Crawler forum while building mine. Everyone says to NOT use roll on bed liner for the inside of the cab, as it will also trap moisture. I am going to get the POR-15 trunk repair kit to fix my floors. The corners of mine are not bad but there are some spots near the gas pedal.

I sure as hell hope not, as I did the entire floor pan, most of the firewall, wheel wells, and frame with Duplicolor. If anything, the MC posts might be in reference to Herculiner, as I've seen a noticeable difference in the finished product, as Herculiner tends to peel and maintain flexibility (even long after it has cured) while others tend to harden more and bond better. Herc is great for a non-slip surface but that's about it.

Found the windshield had a leak, which would explain the rusted out body mounts. Didn't notice it at first because it comes straight down the backside of the dash instead of down the firewall. Some black silicone fixed that. But in coming down the dash, it met the fuse box along the way so several of the tabs and fuses have corrosion. I went to Napa and they don't even carry the fuses in the amperages I needed. Wtf. So I had to special order them and got 2-3x what I needed so I could have spares.

I also managed to break the distributor in half (don't ask), had to buy a new one. Along with a timing light and learned how to time the ignition. Dude at vatozone laughed at me when I asked for one and brought one out saying nobody uses them anymore and that he had to dust off the package.

And after a clusterfuck with the title, it's finally tagged and registered here and driveable. Already getting used to the lack of power steering haha. Now to sell the Honda Fit and get back to cutting the Tacoma. :sawzall:

It's good I promise. I dreamed his rig was driving... It was doing really well too. Jon got all excited and I said well, I didn't know what year it was in my dream so could be awhile :luvya:

I see the ruins of a potentially amazing Offroad capable vehicle only to realize that it's not that great and is taking to much time and money to make happen to reach the goals and become that great machine and is now just a pile of scrap metal and useless parts....

Oh and then there's a 40" tire stuff on the Toyota cause it has no coilover. Which looks sweet

Local friend said he was trying to change the brake pads because it was pulling to one side. Apparently someone tried to help last week and stripped the heads off several lug nuts. They were so seized that I broke 2 impact adapters trying to remove them with a nice bolt/nut extractor. Had to drill out the studs to get the tire off to find this.

Something I had to do (among other things, I know :anonymous: ) before winter sets in was change out the hard, dry-rotted tires on the '81 and replaced them yesterday with 31" TA/KO2s

Changed out the spare with the same, as I don't particularly trust a 34yo one even if it's unused.

Been working on the Taco, but mostly just cardboard mock-ups for the floor/firewall and other boring stuff.
