Sure as hell hope so. :anonymous:
On that note, I found a nice in-depth article on the Borg Warner EFR series turbochargers. The plan is still to install the EFR 7163 on the 3RZ.

Pretty sure I came close to having a fire on my way home from work this morning. It was raining, so I flipped on the windshield wipers. After a couple minutes they stopped halfway through a cycle so I turned off the switch. Got home and noticed the fuse wasn't blown. But one end got so hot that a little of the plastic portion of the fuse panel was melting, and solder was dripping off the fuse.:eek:

When the windshield was leaking it would pool in the fuse panel, so I kept the cover off to avoid that. I'm assuming some old corrosion was creating a poor contact. Asking for trouble if I keep using the OEM fuse panel. Time to upgrade a Blue Seas block I guess.

Been wrapping up a few BS things. Had a major setback though.:(

The plastic mounts for the mirrors are hollow, which was trapping water and rusting out the bolt holes. I tried filling in the bases with rubber/silicone sealants, but apparently it chemically reacts to the paint/clear coat. FML.

In the process now of trying to sand it down and repair the damage. I'm trying to learn CAD and have access to a 3D printer, so my first project is to re-engineer the plastic bases so they're solid but have grooves for O-rings around the bolt holes.

Drilled and tapped these useless plugs for zerk fittings on the knuckles

Finally finished the engine. Replaced seals and diaphragms on the carb and it runs quite smoothly now. Adjusted the lash on the valve rockers. I also cut up the stock air filter housing (running a reusable K&N filter) so it wouldn't be in the way of the crankcase breather.

Can the mounts be machined out of hdpe or similar? I should have something laying around and would be happy to do it. Depending on tolerances it may take me a bit to get around to doing it.

My payment, 100 million dollars... Or you finish the fucking taco!

Those useless plugs are for filling the balls for the birfields, one school of thought says use 90w, the other says use moly grease, which is what I did on my '83. But you need to be careful as there is no seal (or not a good seal) between the ball and axle, over time my axle became filled with a mix of moly & 90w, (not good).
Pulled the drain plug, nothing came out, pulled fill plug and there was a wall of black goop behind it. Cost me a lot of money to get the axle flushed out of all the goop (didn't have anyplace to do it myself), just saying so you know what can happen.

Not sure. Quite honestly I think the most affordable route would be to build one. Find a cab from whatever, an 12v cummins or an LS since they're easy to modify, and build a frame, etc...

I completely rebuilt the axle and used trail-gear inner axle and wiper seals. Packed it with bearing grease. I can't imagine how oil of any weight would stay in for any length of time. Cleaning out that axle was the single dirtiest part of any project I have done.

Oh for the love. Don't build your own tow rig from scrap..haha

Repair one? Sure? But come on man. You don't need another 4 year project :luvya:

Halfway decent tow rigs in general are f*&#ing expensive.
If I can find one that needs a motor swap or that's 'totaled' from salvage/auction with rear end damage or something easy to fix like that, I'd absolutely go that route.

Imagine having all 3 trucks parked in your front yard. You would make a killing at the sperm donation center with the copious amounts of cum guys would leave there
