That is a beautiful truck man. I love the bobbed bed. But what exactly is the purpose of it?

The purpose of a bobbed bed is too be able to wheel in more difficult terrain and not being worried about something hitting your bed or when going on hill climbs, your bed wont scrape the ground... I think thats it

Yup...increased departure angle clearance and a shorter bed allows you go turn tighter and give your rear end more clearance from smacking into a tree or other obstacle

yeah if I didn't have a hitch my rear bumper would be on the side of some trail in Moab  The departure angle of the tacoma sucks pretty bad if you don't bob the bed.

anytime you pull out the shafts you should at least replace the seals..especially since this should be the last time you pull them out for a while...hopefully

Yup, it's a piece of cake... and as long as your very careful, you shouldn't have to replace the seals. I didn't when I did mine, and they seem to be ok....
Yeah, might as well if they've been in there a while, maybe... My seals were almost brandnew when I pulled my axles to pull the third, so I didn't feel the neeed to replace them.

Woot! Two best trailruns at TW Takeover. :)

Trucks looking awesome 45acp! Got me thinking hard about stuffing 35's on mine. My LandCruiser might have finally given up after 300K miles and it's just sitting on the side of my house until I figure out what I want to do with it. The 35's that are on it just seem like they're being wasted sitting there on a parked rig. I've been very close to throwing them on the Tacoma a couple times already, but I know its a slippery slope.

    Keep up the good work.

Can't afford the locker before the WY trip. :pout:

Actually I would be pulling them again in the next 4-6 months when I save up for the ARB locker and CO2 setup.

Thanks bud! And yeah, we would definitely love to see 35"s on your truck! :D
