I do if I want to weld thicker steel (SAS comes to mind). It was a little disappointing that I could only weld 1/4" with flux core and multiple passes with the 140. It'll be nice to have more settings to use and I want to be able to weld aluminum too.

What welder do you suggest for a 140v? (with argon)

I have no experience other than the 115v Hobart 140 I had. It was fantastic, I have no complaints other than what I mentioned above which is not really the welder's fault anyway. Even though it could weld 1/4" with flux core only, it still did a damn good job at it.

The welder itself was consistent if that's what you're asking. If I can put down a consistent bead is another matter.

These are some of the welds I got with it. The 'pretty' welds I sorta managed to get on the bumper itself were ground down and I didn't get any pics haha

The 140 is a perfect entry level welder and I got it based on the suggestions from TW

Oh yeah those are decent looking welds man. Im a total rookie at welding so this does sound like the perfect entry way for me. Ive used an arc welder but that thing was rough haha... Thanks for the pics too

You won't want the truck look if you build your bed like Marks... His still looks like a truck. Just make sure to keep front fenders

If I could only go back in time... Oh well, my buddy came in the shop yesterday and was like holy shit there is so many scrapes on the cage!! I said yeah, it gets used believe me.

I realize that you can have a pretty cool looking truck, clean and nice. Wheel it all day looking good on the trails, some easier than others.

Or you can have a functional truck that looks decent but does it's job amazing. take the extremely hard trails, no pussy routes and just not worry about body damage.

Haha yeah. While I wouldn't mind a raisin as a dedicated trail rig, I'm not particularly fond of the idea when it's still a DD:eek:

I personally think you should tube the bed, looks cooler if you do it right. Then I can take your bed off your hands :spy:

Tempted to make removable besides kinda like Wyatt's using the preexisting bed. :anonymous: We'll see what happens I guess haha

Anyone know if the tail lights have to be visible from the side of the vehicle?

im almost positive they are regular nitros haha..he will have to say.

and due to the higher spring rate..you body roll will diminish

Yeah it'll definitely kill body roll issues. Even without the sway bar, the OME setup was and still is WAY better in corners than the sway bar + stock suspension.

And yeah, they are just the nitros

Yeah added a spacer to the 883s after all the armor. Sagged too much. I'm curious since all the 1st gen springs are 500lbs and the 883s are 590, what spring would I need to replace the 883s and get the same lift without the spacer? :notsure:

The 882s. They are a longer coil then the 881s and 883s and a thicker coil.

881 and 883s are the same length just the 883s are thicker wire and higher spring rate.

    Or Eibachs..

thats also why im trying to get ben to get 882s as he is planning on full skids and an ARB..
