Got a quick video of the upper control arm/ ball joint to test out the gopro before it got dark.

Took some pretty boring videos of the ball joint haha. I love that this thing can be controlled and viewed from my phone.

From one angle, I can't really tell if there's much or any play in it while I'm driving. :notsure:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rb849uzQzUw

I took another from a different angle (Sorry it's shaky, had it mounted in a crappy spot.) and noticed there seems to be a lot of back and forth play in the UCA. Is that normal or could that be the issue that caused the cupping? UCA bushings are shot?

Probably one of the best builds I've seen!
    Nice work!

Ha I wish. Been busy with school, getting a new job, installed a new garage door and updated the garage workshop a bit. Only things I've done recently have been an oil change, transmission fluid, coolant flush, and destroyed the ABS fuses in an attempt to disable it.

I don't know of any D window wheels that are guaranteed to not rub the calipers. Spacers (even just 1/4") or grinding the calipers will solve the problem. I've tried both methods. Oddly enough, I didn't need to grind the caliper on the passenger side but had to on the driver side. :notsure: It's a simple method and hard to F up IMO.

These are the wheels I bought.

Can't remember exactly, but I'd say around ~35lbs. Not light by any means, but they work.

Sooooo I was initially intending on JUST doing the in-cab snorkel mod I've seen a few times, like pictured here-

    DSC00302_e7b3f8d82a51598a12ceffc6b08de4c8d943d6a4.jpg

But I'm trying to look ahead a little, when I (eventually:rolleyes:) SAS I figure something like that is gonna get in the way of shock hoops, trimming, ect.

Right now I think the best location is pretty much straight back from the air box into the firewall. In that location it's easier to get to and there'd be more room in front of the intake opening anyway.

    P1280721_zpsdea32f98_f2c0f616d9b676592c19a27290b06eec1b2e55b5.jpg

But there's that pesky ABS doohickey thing in the way. I've already pulled the ABS fuses and the truck feels much safer without it. I'm hoping I can just remove the unit and replace the brake lines with those for a non-ABS equipped Taco. If that's not the only thing I'd need to do/replace to make it function like a normal truck, then please someone correct me if I'm wrong.

After a lot of cursing the guy who designed this some of this stuff, I finally removed the blower assembly. I'm pretty sure at one point during the removal I used a tree pruning saw. :anonymous:

    Fuuuuuuucckkkkk

    P1280724_zpsa9eb683b_8c20b62ec9b167a2a842b06c1fe568a24bafc7b9.jpg

    Wait... a closer look...

BEHOLD! The unseen area that nobody ever has a picture of! :goingcrazy:

    P1280728_zps11c5cac2_60dd79c3da09588ed69c8cb5768dac135cc7b845.jpg

It seems every time the in cab snorkel mod is done, there's always requests to see the area where the snorkel is supposed to come into the cab.

I pretty much scrapped the idea of the 'traditional' in cab snorkel, still open to suggestions on how to seal/secure it to the firewall. If there's concern about the firewall being opened up more, I could add a fire proof/retardant wrap? :notsure:

My dad is out of the country for two weeks, so he's loaning me his car (the Meth Mobile :D) as a DD while I get this work done. I think while I'm at it, I'll take the opportunity to rip out the carpeting and use bedliner on the cab floor. :spy:

No there will not be any interference with the snorkel and a SAC. Look at mine.. No where near it being a problem (yet) Maybe with 4D's and ultra clearancing to get 24" of uptravel (SICK UPTRAVEL BRAH) but really, even then IDK if it would be in the way.

When I redo fenders I am removing my snorkel and need a different place to move it...

You think so? I was looking at some linked builds and it seems coilovers/hoops could potentially occupy that area.

    P1030818_538a605af7f26a689b063e18007d20a60f383799.jpg

Also I'd like to try and get the axle as far forward as possible and at seems like most guys doing so, end up trimming all the way to the corner lights. The OEM intake seems to take up a large portion of that area.
