Progress has been slow (big surprise ) but I shaved the 60 and got the diff cover roughed in (out?).

Diff has about 1 1/4" of extra clearance now.

I shaped the diff cover the way I did for a few reasons. Bottom section will be beefy as f&^# to take hits, slope gradually to slide over rocks a little easier, provide some protection to the bolts, and to add oil volume. Top section sits close to the ring gear to clear the panhard at full bump.

Sweet!! Going to be an an insane cover, man. lol I wonder if it would be a good idea (or just overkill) to add a gusset on the inside of the cover since there is obviously room... holes in the gusset wouldn't affect gear oil flow adversely, I think. Just thinking the extra gusset would be nice if you happen to land on a rock with the end of that cover. since it is longer than a traditional cover, it won't glance off quite as well, I think, and apply more force to the studs.... :notsure:

Yeah, gussets were part of the plan. Didn't think of adding holes though. If the gussets impede oil flow, that should help. Thanks bud

Haven't decided on a fill plug, or a location for that matter. Would be nice to have a large one for inspecting the ring gear. Any suggestions? Gotta keep the top flat though, so it'll clear the panhard.

I'm not sure. I can't remeber if I tossed it or if it's in the mountain of crap in the garage somewhere. :anonymous:

    Hmm, okay. Haha

Let me know if you find it! I'll buy it off of you if I don't make one myself by then.

The parts are pretty cheap, should be easy to find too. I'll let you know if I find it. I can't remember if I made an adequate description when I built it though. (I really should clean up my build thread. ) Just make sure to crank down on those pipe clamps and you shouldn't have any trouble/leaks.

You I found the how-to on Expedition Portal, but I figured I'd see if I could grab yours. No bid deal though, as they look super easy to make.

Yeah it was stupid easy to make. And now that I think about it, (if you use the OEM cap/filter like I did) you could even use one of those fittings to go to a larger pipe diameter for more capacity.

    Interesting....

Somebody was talking about using an elbow like that so the bottom pvc pipe could be larger diameter.

That's probably your best bet, especially since there seems to be more than enough room behind the skidplate.

12... or is it 16 if you count the double cardan as two.

I have 6 drive shafts right now. Needed a couple extra double cardans for a dual double cardan for the front. The rest will be spare parts haha

Haha you have no idea how close that thing was to tipping over. :anonymous:

It would start to tip if I just lifted the back end of the frame with my little/pinky finger.
