I was looking at that one because it could do TIG as well.

The 3 -4 times as long issue isn't something I'm terribly concerned about considering the length of time it's gonna take with this build. But I'll practice MIG on some tube and see how it comes out.

Also got a quote on DOM for the cage. Local place said $275 for 50' of 2"ODx.120"wall USA DOM

    Nope :anonymous:

Had pneumonia for more than a week. I also ordered up 100' of 1026 USA DOM, brought it home and found they had given me 1020 India DOM. Gonna swap it out with them tomorrow or sometime this week. Ordered a 2" die for the bender and some Pipemaster contour gauges. Once those get here, all I'll need is... a bender.

IF you wanna switch it out go for it, but its not necessary. DOM isn't like pipe and is made to a spec. Any imported DOM has to meet the exact same metallurgical properties as USA DOM. Anyone who claims otherwise is ignorant. Some people get hung up on wanting to support USA and the labor unions. There are a variety of grades of steel we can produce that many foreign mills simply cannot, however something like 1026 which is what DOM is, is a pretty common alloy.

And I may know someone with a bender :D

Nothing really special to report. Pretty much finished removing all the unwanted wiring from the harness. Just enough to run headlights/brake lights/turn signals and the engine. :D

Also it's Christmas all over again, only better!

And on the 15th I'll be picking up the bender and this unused RCI 20 gallon Aluminum fuel cell.
