Teaser of the map lights that will come with the 48SMD led dome in the tacoma LED direct swap kit!

The map lights are 6SMD 5050 LED. As you can see, they match the dome light perfectly! They are BRIGHT! Night time pics to come!
IMG_1702_1d5f0efe107b1e1450845c1f4bd1032a7445381e.jpg

The kit will cost $36 with the map light panels! If you opt for 5SMD LED bulbs(arriving tomorrow) along with the 48SMD dome light, it will cost a mere $26! Very affordable IMO! Especially since it comes with a 48SMD LED dome light! If there is enough interest I will start a group buy list! I shipped out the TRD items that I was selling last week so if these are more of a hit, I will concentrate on the light kits instead!

Oh but scroll down and see the real TEASER pics:D

No problem man! The lights should fit in the taco map lights! But just measure them to make sure! PM me the measurements tomorrow!

Now...

First picture shows the map lights lit up with no help from the dome light

Now for the overall improvement! Bright white matching lights! The lights in the doors are blue, not from my kit! They are my old white LED(they have a slight hint of blue) from superbrightLED. These pics are of the map and dome lights lighting up my 100 series interior:cool:

Exactly why I have personally talked to people to test out the kits on their tacomas and then provide feedback!

Now the 5050 LED's are what comes in the kits! The dome lights are going to be 24SMD 5050 LED panels and the map lights can either be option 1(5 SMD LED bulbs) or option 2(6 SMD LED panels for $10 extra). Here is an example of the red bulbs with red dome lights! The 24SMD 5050 LED panels are much brighter than the original 48SMD panel that I had originally so those are what will come in the kit! I sent a bulb kit to MRworks to test on his taco! I hope he posts! Took advice and decided to send out the kit to get tested on a taco!:D

Color options will be:pure white(basic color) warm white, red, green, amber and blue:D
-$5 extra to change to warm white
-$10 extra to upgrade to a full red, green, amber or blue kit

You going to make them for first gen tacomas or tundras? you could have a huge market. my brother has a tundra (2003) im picking up a 1st generation tacoma tomorrow. The stock dome and map lights stink. imo

if you put something together for these two above trucks or need a guinea pig....I'm your huckleberry

Any plans for a warm white version rather than a bright white?

Hard to read maps with a bright white. Warm white works better for reading. At least it does for me.

I see that you will be offering warm white.

Lol should have told me! I already have someone to test the 6LED map panel and dome light kit for the taco!(Silverbullet07 because he is local) But! I can give you a discount if you guineau pig for the kit that comes with the 9 LED map panels!

I will! Is the tundra a 4door tundra? Also, for the first gen taco, does it have map lights?

Yes, there is a warm white version! I need a guineau pig for that as well! However the warm white switch is an extra $3 because of the fact that it is a special order! However, switching to a different shade of white is cheaper than switching to red, green, blue or amber!

No problem, they are going to be for sale after the testers get the kit and install them!:D

Hmmm you mean reading with the ignition off? I always turn mine on without the key in ignition! Look at this picture: No keys!
IMG_1847_7f284bdba26307d7cd9ee5351495161aacddc634.jpg

So the guinea pig list:

1. STR8_BEAST(2nd gen tacoma kit with 9 LED map panels): pending reply
2. Boots(2003 tundra pending component list): pending reply
3. Boots(1st gen tacoma, pending component list): pending reply
4. 95SLE(2nd gen tacoma in warm white setup): pending reply

The best deal I can offer to people who test the kits is 10% off+ free shipping in the continental U.S. Typically guinea pigs are needed when there is no kit available from me for that truck (i.e. the tundra and 1st gen taco in the list above)

PM me if you want to confirm to be a tester:D

is there any way you could do a multicolor option? like white AND red? like the first click on would be white and the second click would be red? or something of that sort...

Mo not at this time! These are map lights and dome panels that are direct replacement so they function in the same manner that the oem components do so there is no 1 click 2 click, just on or off haha

Not trying to knock on Vled's in any way but you asked the question so I will do my best to explain. I will run computations to show how mine compare in price.

1. My kits use 5050 SMD LED...these diodes are larger in comparison to the normal SMD diode(2-3x larger diodes). The larger diode emits more light which is why my 24SMD 5050 LED panel emits more light than my previously used 48SMD panel...not sure how bright the VLED panel is but I'm sure it is way brighter than stock! Mine is the one with the larger diodes!

th_IMG_1859_b2a5d7c5fe50f7bded90af6d17e7d15dd1879c3e.jpg
th_IMG_1860_f7ef863a77229916fc9f661f6694af543c697c76.jpg

2. The map panels that I use will also use the 9SMD 5050 LED panel

So some calculations:

my kit: $37+shipping

24SMD 5050 LED dome light panel
2x 9SMD 5050 LED map light panels

From V-LED's:
48LED dome light panel $16.79
2x 6SMD LED map light panels $13.99x2=$27.98...according to their 6SMD LED listing it does not even come with double sided tape, mine comes with pre-cut 3m double sided tape

$44.77+shipping+double sided tape(purchase somewhere else) so figure around $60?

Those are some specs and calculations.

If I was to use the 6SMD 5050 LED panel in my kit the kit will cost $31+shipping and it comes with the double sided tape:D

You CANNOT go wrong with ordering from VLED! They put out great products and I know there are people who would rather buy from a big chain retailer rather than a forum group buy conducted by a fellow member who is hoping to start a business some time soon haha:D

Thanks for the questions!
