We are hijacking the thread here, but....
I hear ya with the snowmobile gear!
I currently have a big ass snowblower on my garden tractor for my 150' driveway. Sucks on a windy day!! I miss my plow truck, but not the mice!
I am seriously thinking about a plow.

I've got a snowblower attachment for my new holland tractor too. Yeah, it sucks when you don't have an enclosed cab when clearing snow with a strong north wind in your face. I've looked like the abominable snowman at times when finished. On the other hand I love this Honda snowblower I fixed up. It's great for doing light jobs and walks. It'll chuck the snow in the next neighbors yard 50' away.:D

Yes I have a 33 HP snow blower, Kubota and a 60" blower. It mostly is semi retired but when the weather cooperates I do use it to move the snow banks back.

I have a 22 with a manual transmission. I can engage 4 Hi with no problems. 4LO not so. When stopped, I engage 4LO & it just blinks when I release the clutch. Do I need to be moving slowly in order to engage it? I rarely need the 4WD but i like to engage the system as stated to the actuators free. Thanks!

Don't need to be moving. Push the clutch *ALL* the way to the floor. If it doesn't engage shift into a gear, back to neutral, release clutch, and again depress the clutch *ALL* the way to the floor.

It is a hate full device the only answer is use it more often. You really don't need to move more than a few feet. Some times it helps to turn the truck off and try again. Mine is a standard also been like that since new in 2011.

We should have a safety word for actual questions LMAO. Reminds me of when i was young getting into cars i would look back at the questions i asked in various places and more than half the responses were “are you trolling??” Or joke responses. Fast forward sometimes i found myself reacting the same way when the OP was just trying to learn

Thanks so much for the help. I was able to get 4LO to function properly. I wasn't depressing the clutch far enough.

I have a mt 2016 to engage 4lo first put the truck in 4hi let it engage (I like to engage it wile moving but, if stuck slitly let the clutch out first to engage 4hi)then come to a complete stop push clutch to the floor and turn to 4lo it some time takes a second or to putting it into neutral works to if it's having a hard time make sure the brake are applied

If you haven't already, read this thread. It has a great explanation of the various modes on the Tacoma:
