4Runner Seat Adapters

My tacoma wouldn't do them justice. Those belong on a niiiiiiice first gen

Sorry guys, I was out of the country for 10 days and now I'm packing to move from Philly to TX. I'll try to get some pictures today.

 

Hope you get set up soon! I need to ditch my seats. Apart from being uncomfortable there is also the plastic trim that gets wrecked when hoping in and out.

Seats are one of the few bad things about our tacomas

 

I need new bottom and back seat covers. That is really the only thing keeping me from installing them in my truck. Anyone have a link to quality seat cover replacements?

 

You need a back seat cover? I have a clean one I had washed.

 

I need both.
So I purchased a 4Runner seat off craigslist and had it delivered.
I ordered a drivers seat from a 3rd Gen 4Runner Limited, Karl said he had one with no rips or stains.

This is what I received.

Upon further inspection I found that someone went to a lot of trouble to assemble a seat from at least two different Toyota 4Runners and possibly a Toyota Land Cruiser.

The rear frame is cracked almost in two

The bottom brace going across the rear frame was CUT out.

The right-side isolation plastic piece between the upper frame and lower frame is installed incorrectly

The left side isolation plastic piece is missing

The back foam was completely worn out on the right side, but not the fabric.

The back fabric used as a replacement is too large for the frame and not from a 4Runner, the bottom seat fabric is zip tied onto the bottom frame, and the leather headrest is from another model all together. The lumbar adjustment lever and bevel were missing, and no hole in fabric to allow them to work anyway. Also the reclining lever plastic handle was missing.

I was able to piece together everything but the fabric, so I need seat and back pieces.

 

Yeah I wouldn’t trust my life to that Frankenstein abomination. Why can’t you return it or get your money back?

 

I did get my money back and then I found a seat from a wrecked standard 4Runner, so between the two I was able to piece together the frame and cushions. But the fabric that came with the original seat looks like it was from a larger seat such as a Land Cruiser. And the new seat had a bad bottom fabric, so all I have is a tan upper cover.

 

I need a set of these ASAP. mad I missed the original post! Any chance of another run soon?? I already have the seats waiting.

Hell, I’m willing to pay double if you can make it happen

I will definitely make more, I just have to wait until I get my shop up and running. It won't be until late March most likely.

 

I just realized I never got pictures of the seat foot. Please ignore the nutsert on the top, there is normally a rectangle hole there for attaching the plastic trim cover.
