You're welcome, I was hoping the pics would help folks get an idea of what they are getting into. Not sure about the door sill plate as I havent had a chance to get back out there.

NOTE: I built an adapter using your specs of 1.5" apart and this did not work for me either. I had to actually measure then redrill and found mine was closer to just an inch away. Then I realized my seat would not sit level with the plate underneath either. I would warn that results may vary doing this job since we are bending metal, adapter or no adapter.

Safety Warning: Also I started to think bending the metal seat mounts is likely weakening the metal, and this may be reducing the safety of the truck in the process. You are not only bending the mounting tab, but you need to bend the front arm itself as seen in pics above. I can see if someone bent it too far, then had to bend it back you may stress the part and even break it in worst case scenario. In an accident, keep in mind "restraint" is what saves lives.

Good point about tweaking the rails I did have to persuade the driver side into place and was thinking it wasnt going to work, but actually the rails are still working buttery smooth all the way front and as far back as I could go.

URGENT Question: I found a guy selling Tacoma bucket tracks with the proper feet, I know the base and frame of the seats are different and dont line up but has anyone tried sliding just the track off of a Tacoma and slip it right on to a 4Runner seat rail?

Please chime in someone, I am about to drive for 3 hours to perform this experiment unless someone can let me know this is not going to work and why!!

I am not sure if the track rails are compatible. I know there is a physical stop that you'd have to remove. I can't remember if it's a bolt or not.

You could always drill out the spot welds for the feet and transfer those over. You could either bolt them on or weld, depending on what you have access to.

Referencing this thread it seems what you are talking about is not possible. Although the OP was talking about swapping the whole rail system over, not just the bottom. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/leather-4runner-seats-in-tacoma-write-up.246352/

I called a Yota salvage yard and they told me this would not work, but you are thinking the same as me already that I can get the feet and grind them right off and get them mounted to the 4runner rails.

It is a driver side seat though I imagine the feet would be the same to use on the passenger side, can anyone confirm?

They are side specific, at least for the rear mounts. I'm pretty sure the fronts are also side specific.

Oh no, not what I was hoping to hear... thank you though!! I still might like this better than bent 4runner mounts on my driver side too, hmmm. Sucks being so picky about my vehicles!

I have seen this thread and read his words and process "At first I thought about just trying to bend them in to submission but truthfully any thing worth doing is worth doing correctly. So first thing I did was pull both mount/rail systems off the right side and hacked the front mounts off."

He did not state he tried to slip the 4Runner seat into the Tacoma rail unfortunately. I replied to see if @cazinpa had any luck trying this out as he is wondering the same and spoke with an upholstery shop...

Looking closely at the pic to compare, the rails look pretty similar between the two and this is giving me some hope

However, take a look at the difference in height between the Tacoma front foot and the 4Runner and you can see they are quite different, and I am wondering if this would be accounting for my seat not sitting level.

Yes that could be why they are leaning. I'll look at mine this afternoon and see if they are doing the same. They most likely are, but my truck is never parked on a level surface. I'll lean them back to the wall and see if I can tell that way.

Around $26,000 worth of unleaded in the fuel tank.
When using 4runner seats in a 1st gen Tacoma, will the seat belts work without modification considering that the seat belt latch is attached to the seat

You just need to swap your stock latch to the 4runner seat. Otherwise you would need the whole seat belt assembly from the 4runner.

In my extended cab I can't really tell by looking at the back wall like you did. If it is off, I'd say its 1/2" at the most. I tried measuring to the floor but that doesn't really work either since the floor isn't flat.
