    Dick, for sure....
Just don't sit there as a keyboard warrior saying people are not providing evidence for their view point, when they literally provide evidence for their view.

You can simply offer your suggestions and evidence, rather then be a dick and attack others.... Thanks for playing... God bless

It is certainly true that with the additive packs found in the current family of synthetic oils are protective and durable, the chemical tests after 10k miles will generally show the additives are still present and active. I also suspect that the new oils do preserve the metals from wear far better than the old dino oils. That said, fuel is still contaminating the oil over time, soot is still being created and suspended in the oil. I don't think the oil analysis can truly determine whether or not sludge is gradually building in the engine. If sludge eventually clogs some of the narrow lubrication channels, eventually the bearing surfaces will start to wear. For me, I want to run clean oil in my machine - I change it every 3 to 5k miles.

Youtuber's opinions are not evidence. They are just exactly that, opinions. You are not rational. I can play all day.

I would like to see multiple engines torn down side by side. Same specs, same mileage, same oil, same filters, same usage, but different OCI.

Tearing down one engine doesn’t provide a lot of context, unfortunately.

I’ve also seen a lot of stuck piston rings on older engines that had 3,000 or 5,000 mile OCI’s during my time at Toyota.

This is more like it. Data point. Just one, but still a data point. Not some youtuber, or that's the way I feel about it.

Appeal to authority logic fallacy. Youtubers are just that. You know that they go to Youtube classes. To do what exactly? Toyota is wrong and a youtuber is right. Test engineers are wrong? Millions of miles of data points and I am to dispose of that and my own, because you really, really like some rando?

Two posts above yours, a member posted a data point. That is more like it. All I am asking is for evidence. Why? Change my mind. This is what rational people do. Youtube guy doesn't hack it. Just because I always done it. Nope. Because I feels... yikes.

There's plenty of million mile Mercedes taxi cabs all over Europe, let alone delivery vans from Renault or VW or otherwise.

Similarly, America has scores of 300,000mi F-150s or E-150 vans out there - but you don't hear about them since they're boring and don't have a Toyota hype magnet attached to the tailgate.

Original point being, fuel quality is better as North America now matches Europe for 10ppm gasoline; which in turn means extended oil intervals aren't questionable as they were in the early 2000s.
