I found a leaked pic of the concept - looks like Toyota is finally listening to their consumers!

Yea, FORD found a way to put everything possible in the way. I guess it's no different than the skid plates, lol. Maybe one day they will just design easy to drain systems? lol... I actually laughed thinking engineers would do that...

Have you not changed the oil on your Tacoma? The engineers did a great job with the 2nd Gen & 3rd Gen. Can't speak to Ford's design engineers, but I'd be willing to bet their hands are tied in more than a few ways

Engineers are usually forced to design within budget. Said budget is usually dictated by the bean counters or the folks who came up with the idea of "planned obsolesence"

Don't take a shit on the people who've literally designed, manufactured and troubleshot every modern convenience or life saving device you take for granted daily.

    lol wtf?

It's got 3.5k... Not shitting on anyone . calm down

What a dickhead response. It was sarcasm about oil filter placement and having to remove a skid plate... get over it. You went from zero to offended real quick. Bye felicia.

Funny thing is, I've actually stated in the baxter filter mod thread that I didn't mind the stock oil setup on our trucks. I thought it was very well designed. Same with the engineering behind the filters that sit up top in the engine bay on modern vehicles. I was also an Army Engineer! lmfao

eh... you thought 3rd gen forums were bad, this is a great indicator of what 4th gen forums will be like...

"THIS 4TH GEN TACOMA IS SAVING YOUR LIFE AND YOU DON'T EVEN CARE!" :angrygirl:

Don't get salt in your panties bud. You're the only one bringing up feelings here lol. It's OK to be a dick and there's nothing wrong with having a friendly (or even unfriendly) argument with complete strangers on the internet

Since feelings are getting involved, I will admit I painted you with the wrong brush and I apologize. I enjoy checking the mouth breathers every so often and looks like I mistook you for one of them. That's my bad

Yea when I had a 3rd Gen I seriously considered the Baxter mod. Seemed pretty expensive for what it was, especially since the canister system worked fine as is.

I think Tacoma folks will always remember the "glory days" of having the spin-on on top of the motor and compare whatever is developed to that design. I'm interested to see if the 2.7 will be swapped out to a canister design, tho
