Hello Guys I have an 07 Dbl Cab TRD Sport Tacoma, I have been having trouble with my 4WD for a few months now, I decided it is time to fix it once and for all.

    This is whats happening...

When I move the switch from H2 to H4 I can hear the H4 engaging and I know it is engaged since I cannot turn any more. However the Yellow 4x4 light keeps flashing on the dash and will never go away.

When I want to go back to H2 nothing happens and the truck remains in H4, the only way I can go back to H2 is by shutting down the truck. Then I can hear the t-case disengaging and the truck goes back to H2 and the light stops blinking.

Trying to go to L4 has been impossible, nothing seems to happen when I go to L4 on Neutral and when I go to "D" with the swith on L4, I can hear a beep and "Lo" flashing on my dash.

I am thinking it could be the ADD, since it is a common thing to fail from what I've been reading, but I would like to be sure before spending 300+ dlls on a new one.

    Thanks for the help.

My truck has done this since new but gets better the more I use it... I've found you need to remove any binding from the drive train by being on level surface with the wheels straight. What conditions is your truck in when you're trying to engage?

Pull the ADD off and manually move the actuator. then put it in 4x4. If the light stops flashing....

I remember about 5 months ago the first problem I ever had with the 4WD the light started to flash on my dashboard, it stayed on for a couple of weeks and then it went off, however if I tried to engage 4hi the light would come back on and stay on for a few days, recently the symptoms have changed since now the light is always off, unless I try to engage 4HI and it will blink, but the difference is that now I can go back to 2HI only by shutting down the truck and starting again.
