Ok So today I tried to put my taco in 4wd. I did everything your supposed to do. Ok so I flipped it into 4hi, I heard it click and clock and switch. The green 4wd light never stopped flashing. I thought it was strange. So I go to take it out of 4wd, nothing the light is still flashing and its still in 4wd, put it in reverse to see if that helps still nothing. Ok now im confused. I went ahead and put it back to 4hi, the light still flashing. So I put it in N and tried to put it in 4low. not even the yellow light came on, so I leave it in 4low and put it in D, the buzzer sounds. Ok put it back in N. Take it out of 4low. put it in gear, move to 2wd and the green is still flashing and its still in 4hi. the only way I could get it out of 4wd was to put the truck in park and turn it off and start it back up. So what could be the problem? 4hi works but the green still flashes. 4low doesnt work. and it wont come out of 4wd unless i turn the truck off then on again while in park.

hmmm. interesting. mine clicks in like that, flashes for a few seconds until the drivetrain doesnt have any load on it, then clicks again and the light goes steady. 4 low will only work if the light is steady, and then you put it in Neutral(auto) or push the clutch all the way in.
I'd try hittin the brakes pretty hard when going about 10mph while the lights flashing and see if it clicks in the rest of the way. or try to let up on the throttle, give it some, then let back off again. these might take away the bind and let it go into 4wd. otherwise its time to go to the dealer:eek:

    Hope this helps.......

I am a touch disappointed in these controls. 1) you can't always get to 4lo when your wheels are stopped (like when you are stuck in deep mud) 2) similar story with the locker - sometimes it engages fast, sometimes I have to move 10-20 feet.

And disengaging is also an iffy proposition - as you are seeing!

Have you turned your wheels or left them straight this particular time?

Works fine in the driveway. Maybe lastnight I was just in a hurry and the wheels could have been turned. Not sure. But in this case thread closed...
