Wondering if anyone might have some insight as to my problem. I've searched all the threads and the common problem seems to be the A.D.D. for most people but my symptoms seem unique. Past 6 months about every second time I switch to 4HI the green light and 4LO light flashes indicating a problem, but the truck actually goes into 4HI. Then the truck won't come out of 4HI or go into 4 LO. After a while of driving or sitting it'll eventually make a connection again and come out. Seems like a loose connection somewhere or maybe bad switch?

Actuator on back of transfer case. Contacts might need cleaning.

Also worth noting I had my chassis replaced August 2016 and I've had this issue since that. But didn't try 4wd until December. Maybe related?

More likely it is the ADD on the front of the truck.

Id get underneath it, unplug the connector at the transfer case actuator make sure contacts are clean n plug it back in good (same with front diff actuator if you can) and see if that solves your issue but....

very possible. take it to the dealer, site that its been happening since the chassis was replaced and go from there.

You don't need to be in neutral to switch between 2HI and 4HI. You can even do it while driving.

Yep! You can be going as fast as ~63mph (give or take a few since I don't remember the exact number) and make the switch.

yup its 60mph when it will usually beep and yell at you.

Though i have switched it in at 80mph somehow, a lil soft thud and it went right in, took it out then tried again and it beeped... but yeah 2hi to 4hi on the fly no issues. Actually goes in easier than if you were standing still.
