Long story short, I went I to my woods to get firewood and it's frozen and a swamp, I got about 4 arces in and came up to a downed tree where I started to reverse and got really stuck, I didn't have a winch so I had to leave it over night, where everything froze in etwrrn the wheels, total nightmare, the next day I put it in 4wd and snapped my passenger CV axle, the next day when it froze I had to take a heat gun and spend 3 hours in each tire, got everything cleaned up and unlocked, well now when I push the 4wd button it lights up but no engagement in the tires, is this because of the broken CV axle on the one side? Also my RR diff works but at the time I was stuck I didn't know I had to be in 4L for it to work. Also my abs light is on but it was on when I went in there, been on for weeks. SOMEONE PLEASE give me some feeback

Probably due to the broke axle. The diff sends the power to the wheel with least resistance and since ur cv is broke, its probably sending the power to that axle.

    ...we'll get there.
4wd with open differential like ours is only 4wd if the resistance is =. Otherwise you're really looking at 2x4 (and 2wd is really 1wd)

As nginerd said, if there's less resistance on a wheel that'll be the one that ends up spinning. Your broken CV is the least resistance. You'll need to replace it before you get power up front again

OK thanks guys, with RR diff I got 2wd but I'm reversing out so I'm pulling all the front weight with no weight but I'll just have to replace it in the woods

I haven't done it yet, but from everything i've seen it doesn't look like the worst job in the world. Plenty of people carry spare CVs if they're wheeling in case one breaks. do something nice for yourself when you get this all taken care of. the whole situation sounds like a PITA
