Last night I was down on our north jetty where I new some people were messing around at. Suddenly a couple of guys run up and ask if I have any rope or chain. It turns out that this guy in a 2wd Ford Explorer got himself stuck in a little bit of sand. I drive out there, get my truck in the grass *the sand patch wasn't that big, he just got really unlucky and didn't make it to the grass*, hook up my chain to my hitch, he hooked up to his LCA *explorers don't have recovery points* and boom, I pulled his sorry butt out of there. Sadly, no pics, I didn't have a camera on me :(

My prerunner worked like a boss that night

    4x2 recovery vehicle ftw!!

Oh I know, me too. This time the tables were turned though, and I got to save somebody's butt. I never though I'd get to really do that with my Prerunner :D

haha! I gotta see that, Derek! Help me look for it if ya can! :D

To the OP- Drifter, I bet you felt bad ass after yankin it out, huh? I woulda been like, "oooo yeah..." Also, I wonder what the other person would think if you whipped out a camera to film the extraction- "What the hell? Why is a camera needed to get me out?" haha just random thoughts rolling through my head on a slow day.

Ya, I was kinda pumped. I liked being able to call a few shots, since I'm the one doing the extraction

A camera probably would have got a couple "wtf's" lol

Any vehicle that was designed without recovery points was never designed to go offroad.

That's why I wheeled my FWD Corolla! Two tow points in front, and two in the rear :D

I've never had to use them, though. The only times I got stuck I had 3-4 friends come up and physically lift the rear end by its wheel wells.

Good job on your recovery; and also on keeping recovery gear in your vehicle.
