Here's a complete list for parts assuming you're using Manual Hubs and swapping an ADD differential with a manual jackshaft. The bellhousings between the 4 cyl and 6 cyl are different so you'll have to swap - and the transfer cases are also different. Was your donor truck identical to your truck? (ie: v6, extended cab) because driveshaft lengths will differ.

You will also have to lengthen the harness for the rear VSS - it is too short. On autos it's on the tail housing, on 4x4 it's on the transfer case. Unless you have ABS - in which it'll be on the ABS housing (I think? someone correct me if I'm wrong on the ABS)

Yes CV's are different. You can use the 2WD knuckle but you will have to press it out - much easier to use entire steering knuckle assemblies.

I don't know if the rear driveshaft lengths will be different since they're different cabs - you only need the front portion of the rear driveshaft not the whole thing. Ask someone with the same truck configuration as you to measure their front portion of their rear driveshaft from flage to flange and make sure yours is the correct length. The driveshafts were the hardest parts to find for me. A single cab 4x4 rear driveshaft won't work for example.

I might just buy OEM axles then and find someone with manual hubs already in the spindles. I've heard you can use double cab /extended cab driveshafts, but I'll do some more research

Don't be completely turned off using the ADD system hooking it up is possible, just a lot more difficult. Manual Hubs and j-shift are basically bolt on, implementing ADD will require some wiring and even modifying VSV's and vacuum lines to operate the diff and t-case.

I swapped the engine harness and interior harness. It’s all plug and play. Makes for an easy swap. Good excuse to do valve cover gaskets and sound deadening.

So if I do a manual hub conversion I lose my abs. ADD would let me keep it?

You can press the manual hub spindles into the ADD spindles, that's what DC guys usually do.

That is way out of my skill set. I know there are a few machine shops in my town so I could ask.

A machine shop could do it easy, I think you need a hydraulic press to do it.

The manual hubs steer knuckle has no provision for the ABS sensor. Get new wheel bearings ans have the manual hubs installed into your original steer knuckles. The ABS has noting to do with the ADD. The steer knuckle in front is manual locking hub without ABS. notice the spot where the ABS sensor should be located, there is not provision for it.The steer knuckle in the rear is a automatic hub with ABS. Notice the hole with the ABS tone ring.DSC00391.jpg

Is there any way to identify exactly what transfer case you are looking at other than just knowing what it came out of? I understand some 4cyl transfer cases have forward shift but this is definitely a top shift. Then there is the 4cyl/ manual trans spline count being different. Well this truck had a 4cyl manual trans but is forward shift. Is there a way besides cracking the transfer case from the transmission to tell what the spline count is? I'm not going to buy this case if it isn't going to just bolt up to a A340F transmission.

    Too much but not enough!
I don't think a 4cyl transfer case from a manual transmission would work with a 6cyl auto if that's what you were planning on doing....

Just have to make sure the gear ratios match front and rear.

4cylinder on left v6 on right. since you have a 4 cylinder you do want a forward shift. The A340f is the same in both motors. I used a A340f from a 4cyl for my v6 when I first converted it worked fine. I then rebuilt the donor truck with a v6 to the 4 cyl.

Heres the glitch. The truck was a 4cyl standard trans and has the top shift transfer case in it. I am going Friday to pick up the front diff and all the other front end parts. The questionable aspect of whether this transfer case will work for me is the spline count where it mates to the trans. I will be running my V6 with an A340F transmission that I don't have yet. It is still mated to the trans so I have to convince him to crack them apart to know for sure if I can use it. It needs to be 23 spline to mate to the A340F if I am not mistaken. The other possibility is just taking the trans and transfer case and doing the manual swap too. Would just need a bell housing.
