I had an amazing weekend with some great people and very cool rigs. We had everything from 85 4runners, FJ80, my pile of hell, jerretxx's 06 DCLB, 87 pickup, Havoline Mikes Tacoma and a few Jeeps

I will let you know. I still need to get a compressor and backing plate eliminators, and then we can throw the Longs in as well :D

How about I install it all and we can leave the Longs out and call it even ;)

But seriously, hit me up when you decide to do it and I will try to ride out and give you a hand if you need it.

Nothing new on the ole pile of hell... It had been giving me some issues though. The IAC Valve was trying to go bad. As a last ditch effort I took the intake tube off and shot it with some Deep Creep, made by the same people who make Sea Foam, and it cleared everything right up!

The 4.88's are great! The trucks got some pep and she will definitely get up and go :D

I did find out I have two Creeper joints going bad. Nothing major, I'm getting them swapped out soon and they are under warranty.

Kind of surprising how you wore out two creeper joints already. Figured they had a little bit better life than that

Yeah... doesn't reflect too well on Trail-Gear... but they are warrantying them and we are trying to figure out what the issue may have been. Prior to purchasing their joints, they assured us that they would have zero issues as long as I kept them greased. So we will see what they say.

Hey man I got a question for ya, you haven't been on here in a while, so I'm hoping you still check the boards once in a while.

Do you think there's enough width to use leaf springs with the mini Toy axle ?

I'm wanting to snatch one and start building it up to get ready for a swap, trying to decide whether to hold out for a Landcruiser axle, or just build a mini like you did. :D

Honestly, I'm not 100% sure. I know Damien had a fit getting that mini axle under there. In hind sight, I wish I have held off for a FJ80 axle. A lot easier to deal with and a lot stronger!

Hmmm.... Since you've done it, maybe I'll take your advice... I'm in no rush.... I just want to get the axle and start prepping it and getting it ready while I slowly collect parts.

    I found this http://norfolk.craigslist.org/pts/3540358397.html
someone said the drop is on the wrong side, but it looks like pass. side drop to me. Thoughts ???

Well it depends, are you going to do the transfer case swap like I did or keep your stock case? If you are going to swap cases then that would be a good item for you to pick up and start rebuilding. If you are going to keep your stock transfer case then you're going to need a Dana 44, custom housing or flip a yota axle.

For the sake of keeping it affordable which saves time on being able to get it done, I'd like to stick with the stock transfer case, at least in the beginning... I thought my drop was on the pass. side though. I haven't spent a whole lot of time under my truck yet, obviously, lol ...

My knowledge on differential setups is limited right now, but I'm learning. So could I flip this axle I found ?

To answer your question about using a toy axle, yes you can out it on leafs springs. Would I do it, no. If it's wanting to be done as cheaply as possible I'd go fj80 and use the factory radius arms with coils and shocks. If you have time and money do a custom housing with a 9.5 center section and fj80 long fields. Also you cant just flip the housing you'd have a lot of cutting and welding to do, it's be easier to find a rear land cruiser axle and graph on 80 series knuckle balls.

Got it... minor cutting and welding I can do, but I want to keep it simple... Adam, did you use the transfer case from the mini truck too ? I've got the 3.4 so I'm wondering on the compatability with the tranny there
