I know @mjbtaco is a wealth of knowledge on the QA1 as he sells the plates to mod your stock LCA. IMO the QA1 is the way to go with 4x4 leaf mod. Some quality rear shocks the truck will ride and handle great. Im going to be install my QA1 setup will all new ball joints and bushing hopefully in the next few weeks on my 01.

You should get your truck weighed and contact customer service at qa1 or viking and see what they recommend. Tom is using the longer springs, which like you said do have a wider spring rate range.

I have no loyalty or bias towards viking or qa1 id say go with the setup that you can get the best support on. One of those companies should be able to steer you in the right direction.

You're not going to get the answer you want on these forums, its such a niche market and to be honest people rarely share information. Plus most of these guys just want to do it to go as low as possible.

I have a discontinued 550lb 8" spring on mine with single adjustables and I've been happy with them for the last 10 years.

Very nice truck man! Hows the ride ? Smooth or bouncy? Was gonna do the belltech set up all around myself but ended up going with the kyb monomax instead all around 3/3

Thanks man! It was pretty bouncy before I did my c-notch since there was not much suspension travel in the rear. It rides really smooth now.

Maybe not the setup most "newbs" would go for when lowering, but I am super happy with my results achieved without using any of the common aftermarket parts available.

    2 / 3 (almost) Drop:
Deaver custom made 2.65" front drop coils 368 lbs (2" measured drop).
Rear oem leafs de-arched also by Deaver for 2 3/4" lower in the rear.

Got a nicer stance and better handling while keeping the ride very tame on the street and highways. I left a bit of rake in the rear too so I could still load up the truck bed when needed.

Thanks a bunch! I am so impressed with the ride quality now, it is actually smoother and less floaty/bumpy on the highway at speed and doesnt hit low speed bumps as hard either.
    20201022_140459.jpg
Oh yeah - it also handles the curves with ferocious grip now, and there is notably less body roll in the turns and dive under hard braking. I had so much fun this weekend on my initial test run to my local canyon and favorite freeway ramps.
    20201022_140717.jpg

Basically this truck rides and handles better all around now without any compromise or issues, I am super glad with the method I used to lower my Tacoma!!

nice lol. I dont have that issue since its only lowered 3 inches in the back. But my 4 inch steel blocks just came in and hoping i dont have that issue after.

really clean truck by the way! Was hoping to catch it at dockweiler a few weeks ago lol.

    :D:D:D:thumbsup:
Daily duties and canyon comfort is always a plus for me as well especially in a pick up which is way more of a challenge to accomplish rather than just slapping coils on a car lol.
I took the taco out on a spirited drive thru the malibu canyons and the 154 by cachuma lake recently and it felt like the truck wanted me to go faster haha. A bit bumpy and stiff but i still have some work to do :D

Shouldn't have the "Taco Lean" issue unless you changed out your OEM coils or leafs. OEM coils or leafs already compensate for the extra weight on the drivers side.
