I recommend doing both. Just make sure you get new shocks for the front.

Ok thanks. Should I get new ball joints as well. How much of a drop do you get up front doing upper and lower joints? And do you recommend a certain shock?

You get about 3". If your balljoint have 100k on them I would. Tacomas are know for weak balljoint after 75k-100k. They are not too bad on price if you use coupon code from advanced auto. I like kyb monomax shocks. Little more expensive but they ride good imo. If your on IG look up "Sdyota" he too has lots of info and photos of ball joint flips he has done.

Ok thanks man. That’s what I’ll do then. Upper and lower flip. 3” drop spring. 3” drop lead and a 3” block. Should sit pretty low

That sounds great. There is no 3" spring. The drop coils only give 2" unless you have a V6. Also if you drop the back 6" you'll need to notch the frame as you will be smashing your axle on frame.

Oh ok so the flip up front with the 2” will give the 5” up front. Do you have a truck lowered like that?

I have the balljoint flip and did the 4x4 leaf swap in the rear for a 3/3 drop. The roads where I live don't like lowered trucks. Also I dont like to run smaller then a 45 series tires. I've know plenty of people who have done what you are after and it works.

Yea I live in Pennsylvania and the roads here aren’t low rider friendly but I don’t drive far for work so I’m going to just slam it. I’ve been looking up post on how to achieve a 5-6” drop up front and a 6-7” drop in back. I want it low. And to sit perfectly level. But really can’t find exactly what people are doing to get this drop and or pics of what the drop looks like.

Again I would get on IG and look up @SDYota. Here is a photo for reference of 3/3 on my truck with 225/45/16 tires. Kyb mono maxx on the corners.

LOVE your truck!! This looks built to drive in a spirited manner, not a TRD Sport but way sportier instead!! Are those S-runner flares you are running or where did you get those?

I know these things aren't super high performance, but I find them to be high in fun especially since my daily drive is a lifted 4Runner on 33's! I would like mine slightly dropped with some high performance tires to increase the smile factor when behind the wheel as well as to give it a more aggressive stance.

As for my drop I am thinking of fitting my wheels and tires first, then cutting front coils and de-arching the rear springs to my desired height, clearance, and to level side to side. I know its not listed in drops for noobs page 1, but maybe we are passed that stage in our lives now!

Here is mine, had her only about 3 weeks now.20200121_161311.jpg and

    Hey guys! New member here...

First of all thanks for all the great info you all share here... I have a 95 2WD single cab that I’m looking to mildly drop. After doing some research I have come up with the following parts:

    •Belltech 4260 springs
    •Chassistech 2” blocks
    •Belltech 9572 shocks

I’m hoping this combination of parts will give my truck about 1.5” drop in the front and 2” in the back and still handle well and not affect the ability to carry some weight that much.

Does any of you know if I’m in the right track here with this parts or do you have a different suggestion? Thanks in advance for your help!!

Welcome to the world of Tacoma's! Glad to see some more love for the 5 lug scene here!

I would say you are definitely on the right track hearing what you are going after. Also if you're shocks are good you dont need the Belltech shocks for the mild drop you are planning you can keep stock length shocks. Although it is a good idea to replace shocks if they are super old to help with your handling while you're at it. I just got some Bilstein shocks I plan to run in mine for example, and many folks like the KYB's for a good ride for less bucks.

You are going to have to share some pics and your thoughts once you get it installed please!
