    why are they called 5 luggers, i know it has five lugs but what differentiates it from the other tacos? is it because a 5 lugger is 4 cylinders?

    5 luggers have 5 lugs, 6 luggers have 6 lugs.............you can have a 5 lug with 6 cyl. or a 6 lug with 4 cyl...

    01 SR: Double Cab conversion, S/C, lowered.
    The 5-lug versus 6-lug differences have to do with frame and suspension (mainly suspension).

    It's got nothing to do with engine size - there have always been V6 5-lug Tacomas and 4-cylinder 6-lug Tacomas.
