Ive ran it for years in all of my cars until my tacoma. I put 20% just because i got sick of having to worry about driving and being bothered by police (even more so after a few drinks). Ive only received one ticket for tint in all of my cars (but i had my windshield tinted 35% as well, so it was DARK and i was speeding) Most of the time i just got warnings. However, it will make seeing your side views more difficult, especially in rain) I tow a boat often and got sick of having to roll down my windows, however if your looking for the dark look (it looks the best in my opinion, but to me wasnt very applicable) then go for it. I think if you already have the dark tinit idea in your mind you wont be happy without it. You may also wanna look to see if the place offers anything like 10-15% as it gives you the dark look while not being SO dark.

Just got 20% to match the rears yesterday and it looks great. Not too dark but still has the tinted and aftermarket look. Can just barely see in, and that was a plus with me to help lower the chance of the boys in blue messing with me.

Go with 5% you won't regret it. I ran it in all my other vehicles and have only gotten 1 ticket and I drive in Houston, there's like 20 cops per square mile here.

I've ran 5% on all my vehicles since I've been old enough to drive, and love it! Then again, I live in Fl and it's pretty much a necessity with the sun we get down here!

I've had 5% before. It looks cool. But IMO it sucks to drive at night or in the rain. I never got a ticket for it, but cops can/did use it as a reason to pull me over a few times.

    read build thread
Gonna get my front two windows done next week sometime, prolly at 25% (legal in arkansas!)

Ive already read about a dozen tint threads on here (yes I searched) to find out what would match the back windows best. There was no clear answer, but either 25 or 20 works for most people. 5% was always mentioned as too dark for most people.

imo just go mudding and get a free 1% tint!

Here is one from the back so you can see that although it is raining it is sunny. You can not see through the window

When I got mine, I initially asked for 20% i figured that would match the rears but the tint shop recommended going with 15% because while it would be slightly darker, color wise it would be a perfect match. I tend to agree. Although I don't think it would have been that much of a difference going with 20 but since they were a highly recommended and good shop I just went with what the guy suggested.

15 or 20% will match the rears, making it cheaper to tint (around $65 for Llumar tint on the front two only) and not impede your night vision. no need for 5% IMO.

I have an eye thing where the darker the better. It is a bit hard to see at night but I have good lights and usually drive slower at night.

Get 5%, you won't regret it. Had it done on all my vehicles including whole windshield. Never have a problem looking through them at night, 13+ yrs of driving like that you get used to it. It actually improved my eye sight being more observant haha. I even had my old WRX double tinted with 5% all around, but I only drove that on weekends.

It'll be pretty tough to see around the truck to maneuver. I had a buddy that tinted his down that far in a dakota..lost a car in his blind spot one evening ( not even dark yet..the guy had his lights off still..my buddy basically cut him off..got clipped and spun out..rolled...totalled the truck ) . i've gone down to 20% or so ( the stock "clear" windows are good for a 4-7% loss in light transmittance ). I was checked with a light meter with my 20% and it read 14 %. I wouldn't go much darker than the 20% I had before.
