My local u pick is having a all you can carry for $50 day !!!!

I would like to know what i should look for to start my stash of 2nd gen parts as i am in the final stages of buying a project 2007 I know that the truck i am looking at was WELL used so this is a perfect opportunity for me to save some $

The truck has high KM 350000km, the check engine light, ABS, handbrake lights are all on, needs a windshield, power steering leak.

I drove this truck and it seams to run fine

    My list right now includes:

    Hand brake cables
    Abs sensors
    Front drivers seat
    O2 sensors
    power steering lines ?
    Alternator

    What else ?

Exactly, for 50 bucks, I doubt they will let you back into the yard and start loading up the bed.

Unclear which has the 350000 kms... but if the boots are dry, consider snagging the rack and pinion when you’re going for the PS hoses..

Thanks for all the reply’s so far

The 2007 project truck has 350000km on it so it has been around the block.

The way it works is $50 gets you anything you can carry out by hand.

is it all in one trip out what you can carry. or can you make multiple trips with hands full.

transfer case, front add, CV axles, third members from the diffs, pull the axles too. all kinds of stuff, even if you had to pay a couple fifties for multiple trips you could get a bunch of goodies and sell a few to people for more than fifty dollars but cheaper than they could get it for.

your expenses are covered and you helped a couple guys out that don't have the opportunity you do. I don't have a lot of cash on hand, but if I had the opportunity to pick apart a couple 2nd gens for cheap then I'd get some money and gut them.

good luck op. how you get some good stuff.

I watched a video of 2 guys carry out an complete LS1 using a driveshaft across their shoulders and some chains.

    You can do it.

Are you willing to hurt your back? I think I would be. Bring some Gorilla Tape and make a huge ball of the parts you want and put it on your back.

I've heard of people taking a truck hood and loading parts on that, then drag hood out like a sled.

I've heard about these kind of deals. I'm pretty sure it's usually all YOU can carry. Not you and a buddy. I heard about a big burley guy that packed out a complete air cooled VW motor. I heard about another guy that put fender over his shoulders, had someone put a bucket seat on each side and then carried a windshield in front of him. He didn't need the fender. It was a means to carry the seats.

Good luck! Sadly, finding a Tacoma in a junk yard is a rare find!

I think some places will allow a wheel barrow.
