    how exactly did you wire in the cat 5 to do that?

    do you use a relay of some sort?

    I just used cat5 as my wire.... easy to run and had it handy. I took apart the invertor and used the cat5 to extend the switch,power led and overload led up front. The switch on these runs next to no current thru it. It just bias a transitor in the invertor to turn it on and the leds only pull 15mA so you don't need a very big gauge.
    I could of ran 4-5 wires up there but the cat5 was just easier.

    i may do this. how hard was it to tap into the wiring on the inverter?
