The sport springs will ride better than the off road when compressed. I wouldn't worry too much about the mileage.

no it wont..... seriously, people make it seem like running the OR coils at 1.75 is going to be bone jaring. its not, its still nice and supple. soaks everything up and uses the full motion of the suspension.

the ride i now have with the 5100's and my OR coils at 1.75 is BETTER than it was stock.

You know what, it all depends on the driver and I didn't say it was bone jarring I said it won't be "STOCK" I've seen plenty of people complain about stock springs with 5100s on the .85, 1.75, 2.5. setting What one person say better is stiff for another person.

Sounds like it all has to do with the user. Got the shocks today but I still gotta buy rims/tires. Just seems like A LOT of people on here have 1.75 with stock coils.

I'm leaning towards the Sport springs. Got a buddy with a wall mount spring compressor so won't be the end of the world if I have to re-do it.

Are the sport springs not progressive?
Are they different than the standard (say sr5) springs?

Correct, the Sport springs are the same as SR5 and are not progressive.

Just did my base model access cab with stock springs at 1.75. I got over 2" of lift, nearly 2.5. Not sure what the springs are, but would assume same as SR5. I like the ride. It's stiff, but still absorbs bumps, which is more than I can say about my rear suspension. I have ride rite airbags and had to pump them up to 30lbs just to level the truck. I got my alignment this morning and headed up a forest service road that climbs steeply with a washboard surface, as well as potholes and rocks. The front felt good, the back was awful!! Rear suspension upgrade is not in my budget for this year. Oh well...

Sounds like the spring perch is upside down on your 5100s giving you that extra lift.

I'm measuring 31" from bottom of my rims to fender (takes out variation in tire size) 16 inch rims.
Edit: pre 5100 measurement was 28.5"

I'm going to be installing these soon and figured I'd just jump on this thread instead of making my own. OP, if you'd rather I start my own let me know...

I bought mine used with coils already installed. They are set to the 2.5 inch setting and I just want it leveled so I'm going to change them to the 0.85 setting. I just want to confirm that I should put the circlip on the second indent from the bottom, right?

Also, my springs have paint on them, one has a blue and white mark and the other has a green and white mark. Do these have any significance at all? Is one right side and one left side?

Your'e fine in here! Yes, the lowest mark is 0, then .85 is the second.

However, if you have the TSB (4 leaf springs) in the rear, many people are getting very close to level at 1.75". It seems to come out level or very slightly nose high which is what I want. Check this thread for pics:

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/suspension/179678-bilstein-5100s-1-75-a.html

I really don't know what the paint marks are. I'll look around a bit.

    Stock for now
My 2014 DCSB Off Road 4x4 came with a 3 leaf pack (2+1): my understanding is that the 2014+ Off Road comes with a 3 leaf pack (for "more articulation"), and the Sport comes with a 4 leaf pack (TSB type).

With a 2" OME lift up front (884 coils and 90000 Sport struts), and 1.5" Toytec AAL in the back, my truck is level.

Wow, I thought the 2014 Off Roads came with 4 leafs. My 2015 Off Road does have 4 leafs. It was the first thing I checked.

My Sport springs laying around (that I planned on using) have blue/gray on one and blue/pink on the other. I have no idea which one goes on which side now!
