Not to jack the thread but if I were to install a toytec AAL for a couple inches of lift in the rear, would I be able to use my stock shocks still or would I have to replace them?

The 887s will provide all the lift, so you will want to set the billies at 0, their lowest setting. I have 887s with stock UCAs, the alignment is fine but not perfect (although Toyota seems to think it's perfect). You do not need the UCAs, but I kind of wish I had just bought them when I did the lift. I'm planning on getting some soon. My cv angles are not bad at all according to people on here and my buddies who are mechanics. The boots will wear faster but it's not like they will burst after 10k miles or something. If you are really worried about the UCAs and cv boots probably go with 885s or 884s.

Thanks for your reply Salty. Yea I didn't realize the OME coils were that much bigger. I don't need 5-inches of lift, nor do I want it for some of the reasons you just mentioned, and I don't want to have to replace my UCAs, but might later.

5100's at 0 with 885 coils, top spacers, and the AAL in back sounds like what I want. Hopefully this will keep my alignment to spec, and keep things ok with the boots too, all while looking good. And after seeing Rednecks pictures.. I like it!!

Looks good man. I think I'll be doing the same thing as you, but sticking to AAL and 5100's on the rear. Did you put top spacers in the front, or just 5100's and the 885?

Thanks... No top plate spacers, just 5100s and 885 springs at 0, but I did use the 1/4 spacer on the drivers side for the lean...

BINGO! Sounds good. I preloaded my 884s to .85 setting, much to the chagrin of some members here. I don't carry any extra weight up front (Prerunner, no plate bumpers, winches, etc). Many say OME 885 and 5100s at 0 setting is the way to go for a level & somewhat forgiving front end.

You in South Georgia? Sure looks it by those brick ranches, flat land and drippy trees.

I grew up in Southwest Georgia. Mitchell, Thomas, Miller & Dougherty counties. Just looking at the pics you posted, I swear I could smell those trees and hear the evening critters buzzing.

What's your measurement from middle of hub to top of fender?

You are most welcome and I hope I didn't come off sounding like a jerk, I know I do this sometimes.

Just keep in mind Redneck has a prerunner which weighs about 230 lbs less then the front end of the 4x4, so you will sit just a little lower up front and the ride will be a little better.

Excellent. Do the top spacers rough the ride up, or is that just something forum goers nitpick about?

Only temporarily. The stock shocks will limit your down travel and it's not good to over stretch.

bought my lift from ToyTec. 112-620 Eibach coils, Bilsteins @ .85, Light Racing UCA's and 2" AAL's in the rear. ended up with just under 3" of lift. no top plate spacers. wish I had!! I like a bit of rake especially if you often carry stuff in the back. the ride is excellent and with the LR UCA's my alignment is perfect. IMG_0447.jpg FullSizeRender1.jpg

Camo, do you have any issues with tracking or steering wheel shake? After lifting mine I've noticed there is some minor steering wheel shakiness and the truck tracks with ruts and bumps and things like that (bump steer I think). I'm wondering if upgrading from the stock UCAs would help that. I'm thinking it will, but toyota said my truck is aligned just fine...in fact they basically told me not to get new UCAs. Don't want to buy them if they won't fix the issue.

I don't have any issues with tracking or bump steer probably due to the LR UCA's which allowed me to get my Caster aligned at around 3 and camber and toe virtually at 0. IMO if you have Toyota set the alignment a factory spec it won't drive optimally for a lift over 2.5". I had mine done by alignment shop and told them where to set the numbers. with our lifts you probably need to have your caster set at least 2.5.

Most likely your truck is still within specs but lift requires more caster. Did you get new tires with the lift? Could be that your tires that is causing the shakiness as well.
