I will or can agree with the rear spring/s statement about X-runner and 3rd. Gen springs being close to the same ride height and rate.
It’s like I explained in the PM / DM that you need to lower the shock settings. But I would try 1C w/ 2R on the rear.
As for the front springs You should get 25 to 30% sag in a coil-over spring. So your 10” springs should be shorter than 7.5” to 7” long under compression. So the new 12” springs should be 3 to 3.6” shorter than 12”/inches.
Or 9 to about 8 3/8 of an inch long. Measure both sides and divide/average

 

I run my rears at 0C and 2R with no issue. If you look at the tuning chart that comes with the Vikings, posted above, it actually says to set the rear compression between 0-3 for street use.

I've found from swapping the rear springs multiple times that the 4x4 springs feel softer than the stocks. They sag more under the load of my tonneau cover. Enough so that I switched to 2" blocks instead of the DJM 3" so that the differential would stop slamming into the underside of the bed. I do have pre-TSB rear leaf springs so they may be softer than ones built after the redesigned springs came out.

 

Oh Hell Yes there’s a major difference in the rear springs you have and the later leafs!!
The early rear leafs were mush!

So you guys are saying the 4x4 leafs are softer than then original 2 pack leaf springs found on the x runner?

I also put the rear to 0C 2R and started noticing more bounce/stiffness from the rear. It could be that the front springs are too stiff and that translates to the rear?? I do have the 450 lb springs coming in this week so i can test if the front springs are too stiff or the rear 4x4 leafs that i installed into the x runner.

Dont like the fact that once I take a hard turn or round about, the truck starts to bounce. Mainly from the rear i believe.

 

Yeah, I sort of figured they were softer than the redesigned ones. They work great for me as I don't need as much stiffness in the rear now that I'm running a rear sway bar. GIVes me the right combination of softness and handling.

I don't know how the spring rate of the current 4x4 leaf springs compare to the stock X-runner ones. I do know that my pre-TSB 4x4 leaf springs are softer than my stock base model leaf springs. Since you have an additional chassis brace in the rear of your truck and stiffer springs my settings may be too stiff of a ride for your truck. Also I'm coming from a slammed Scion xB that had every imaginable chassis/suspension brace and poly bushings on all of it with a 225/30R20 wheel/tire combo, so I'm used to a very stiff ride. The only saving grace was that I was on air so the lower I got the softer the spring rate got.

 

Any fitment issues with mustang wheels? I know the bolt patterns match, but does the hub circumference or different offset cause any rubbing?

 

The mustang hub bore is 70.3 so hub centric rings to drop it to 60.1 are probably in order.

Since I don't think hayrider has the truck on the ground and driving yet I will comment on how my fronts fit. With 20x8.5 +48 wheels and 255/30R20 tires everything clear up until I try to turn to full lock. The tires start to rub about 1/8 of a turn from full lock on the forward inside portion of the tire. Not bad but immediately noticeable when trying to do tight parking lot maneuvers. I'll be putting a 10-15mm spacer on mine since I still sunk in slightly from the fender lip.

 

Not really needed. The lug nuts will center the rim on the hub. Unless the mustang wheels don't use the same lugs nuts as stock? Then you would probably need the hub centric rings. I haven't had any problems with the Volks on my x-runner without running rings and the center bore is 70-72, I forget exactly.

 

Sorry guys I just saw this. Been looking for a new casa as we are now officially OLD‼️ And looking to leave the heat of the Phoenix area. But this time we are getting a 2 bed 2.5 bath w/ 3 to 3.5 car garage. And finding a unicorn is next to impossible. We found a 4 bed w/ a 3 car garage. There’s a bedroom next to the garage so the wall is coming out along with the door from the house into the bedroom then frame in and insulate. Now I have a work space in the garage. Then there’s another bedroom next to the kitchen & great room. We are going to remove the door from the hallway and add two French doors entering from the great room, will be an office for my wife. Ok done fantasizing!

Absolutely NO rubbing issues from the Mustang wheels‼️ But they are heavy as Hell!
You can order hub rings from Amazon for about $10.
I will say I like the fitment of the Infiniti G37 19 x 8.5 w/43 and 19 x 9 w/ 45 better! Plus the outer barrel of the Infiniti / Enkei wheel is roll forged! Makes the wheel a lot lighter and stronger.
