Still running the front viking setup. I switched to ridetech rear shocks. Im looking into getting ridetech 3 way adjustable front coilovers. The mono tube rear shocks although single adjustable ride better than the vikings.

    Sir,
I mean absolutely NO disrespect‼️ I have almost double your rear travel in our Access Cab with late model 4x4 springs & Vikings bottoms a LOT! If I stiffened the crap out of the rear shocks it wouldn’t bottom but I’m not using a kidney belt & mouth piece just to drive around. So I’m guessing that the roads must be sweet in #50. If you want to ship your truck to the mainland and come to #48 in the Phoenix area & the 5th largest city in the US. I gladly have you drive around in parts of the valley. Trust me you be figuring out how to notch the frame or raising the ride hight!
I fully understand you trying to get a better ride with Ridetech shocks but most of us have more travel. And as soon as my new little baby is back from the tuner it’s getting the frame notch welded in.
These chunks of aluminum have been installed and now it’s up to the tuner. He’s trying to get it up to 9 lbs on crappy 91.

I use to think mine was bottoming out but it actually hitting off of overload springs.Dont think going over bumps will hit bump stops.
Going over speed bump feel solid bump. Definitely not hitting bump stops .
    My truck anyway .

Well 2wd is a 2wd the frames are the same xrunner or regular access cabs. With the new ridetechs I hardly bottom out. Also as stated I have helper bags in the back.

I dunno you do you, I give up.

Sorry but there’s no way with 2” of suspension travel you are going to get an Ok ride on the street. Well at least as far as I’m concerned. My 07 Mazda MX-5 had upgraded suspension with upgraded springs, double adjustable Koni’s (Koni’s are approx $150 each then labor to convert the shock to double adjustable was approx $350 each) then add Mazda RX-8 R3 factory swaybar’s with fresh 235 UTQG of 200 rubber on 8” wide wheels. It could almost pull 1.2 G’s on the skid pad & road like a Cadillac compared to the Tacoma. The day I sold her to help pay for my Tacoma project.
I will say I like the gas charge & the warranty on the Ridetech’s.

For what it's worth, I've got ~ 3 inches of travel in the rear with 4x4 leafs, + 3 inch blocks. I have the c-notch and shorter stroke Gabriel ultra shocks. I only bottom out if I really hammer some bumps hard. Back when I had 1 inch of travel I bottomed out like crazy, but picking the truck up two inches helped with that.

Hey! Got some ridetech based on your post and they do ride very well, nice to have adjustable rear for hauling motorcycles etc. The truck feels a lot more controlled over some generic procomp from the DJM website. I'm on a 3/4 lower and don't seem to hit any bump stops in the rear.

Did you have a part number for the ridetech in the front? Would you need to run a StrictlyStreet top adapter plate?

Finally picked up some triple adjustables for the front.

These should bolt up to my slick and dirty top plates.

Just need to find time to install.

My new setup. There’s also a big difference between springs between the 5 lug Reg. cab, Access cab and X-runner front springs‼️ These are the Reg. cab and this is before pre load of the spring/s…
