IMG_1090.jpg just went all out and got the limited. im old and gettin soft!! it will be getting 17 inch wheels and meatier tires once the michelins wear out. added the husky weatherbeaters and gonna sell the factory all weather mats soon on craigslist. this thing is a hell of a lot quieter and smoother than the tacoma was for sure. so far i love it.

Want to lift my wife’s 2017 SR5 Premium, mainly for looks not off road performance. Looking at the Toytec kit that has the 4 new springs to gain 2” in the rear and 2.5” in the front, using the stock shocks....is there anything else that would need to be done to it get the springs?

Bilstein 6112 Series Kit comes with the Shocks and springs. I think you will have to at least change the stock shocks. The stock shocks went for a noses dive under braking and I didn't like that. The stock rear springs and shocks gave me a floaty ride and didn't like that either. The system I have now gives the 4Runner better on and off road manners.

I have a similar setup on my taco... 6112's in the front and 5160's in the back, they're just a kit packaged by TRD used stock on the 2nd gen 2015 Tacoma Pro... will look into 6112's for the 4R thanks.

Another 5th Gen owner here. Had a 2nd Gen Tacoma and ended up going to a 4runner as I needed 4 doors. More things to come, but as it sits now:

How does your TACO compare to the 4R? I was looking at a 2018 4R OR that was comprable to the TACO OR I picked up by less than $100. We needed the open bed utility though I love the 4R's!

Had a 17 taco OR for 9 months. Traded it for the 4Runner OR which I’ve had 4 months. For me 4R>Taco all day.

Wife hit 5k on it. Still loves it and so do I. I did ditch my 2nd gen for a new pro. Love the pro but man if I didn’t need a pickup I would have bought a 2nd t4r.17003D12-C7FB-4EE7-86CF-2671B040AE3F.jpg

Are you taller guys finding the 5th gen 4Runners with the power seat to be comfortable?

One of the few things I dislike about my Tacoma is the low seat height. While the 4Runner’s seat can be raised, doing so causes it to move forward. I also noticed the roof line was a bit low, impacting visibility.

I want to like the 4Runner, but have to say the seating position is concerning..

They’re totally different animals. I love them both! I guess which one fits your lifestyle better is the one to go with!

Im 6’4”. I have a 2nd gen taco and my wife and I just bought a 2016 sr5 4runner a few months ago for her daily driver. The runner is a perfect fit for the both of us and honestly is the nicest, most comfortable vehicle i have ever owned.

Just switched to the runner from the taco last week and the 4runner is much more comfortable for me. The rearview mirror doesn't block my right side vision nearly as much too. 6'4" btw.

Well the Tacoma is gone and I bought a 2019 TRD OR 4Runner. I needed more space for the family and the 4Runner checked all the boxes.

Currently enjoying it in its stock configuration, but an Icon Stage 5 kit, front runner rack, some tires, sliders, and skids will be ordered early next year. Time to start another project!
