I went snowboarding and left the truck out all day while it snowed and it didn't really bother me at all.

I thought about doing something like that but my fingers tips where touching the boot and wasn't very comfortable. I just added a rubber washer though to cover up the ugly chrome bit on top.

Great idea on the washer! Looks good! Another member said this was an "unnecessary" mod, and that I shouldn't do it unless I planned on racing. However, if it improves the every day driving experience, why not? What are your thoughts overall?

Unnecessary mod? What mods are? It's all about making it your own. I love my shift knob, made it myself from a cue ball so it was cheap. I like the way it feels and looks and it does seem to shift a little smoother with the extra weight. If you want a new one go for it.

Thanks Luse, when I swapped mine out to the TRD knob I hadn't thought of a washer to cover that chrome piece. Just added that to my to do list

Love my TRD cue ball! One downside... The gear position map on the top is cut into the ball and not filled with any clear varnish or epoxy so the white lettering tends to get a little dirty. That being said, a toothpick and about 12 seconds takes care of it. Maybe I should wash my hands more often... :anonymous:

TRD quickshifter should be here tomorrow! I purchased a MOMO one dark chrome knob--eh. Too small and feels uncomfortable. I'll likely throw my stock back on. Does the TRD knob feel awkward at all?

Made mine from an 8 dollar cue ball from Dicks Sporting Goods, 2 nuts, some epoxy and a drill. It's bigger than the ones you can buy and fits my hand better.

Is there a part that you can get to fit in shift knob adapters to keep the collar up? Like the white part? Or just zip tie? Was given a handmade wooden knob with my initials and would love to use it

    Lots baby!
If you are talking about the collar on top of the boot, you cat cut a 1" long piece of heater hose and put it over the shifter stalk, under the boot.
