    The "John transmission tsb" lol

And when your at the dealer getting that done, be sure to ask for the "Josh 4wd tsb", which involves replacing both 4wd actuators

Wow, so I finally got back home (after working all night.. I am dead).

So they are replacing the entire transmission system apparently, the new TOB is included... some fork fucking thing... too.

Apparently the piece that broke... toyota has never seen broken before :headbang: the dude that came out said he was told, "not to even get into trying to explain it", haha. Everyone at the dealership was really cool, and I got a 2011 camery rental (8 miles on it). I plan on getting more details when I pick it up to find out wtf it was.

Part is shipping overnight from CA, truck is already torn apart so it will be ready tomorrow or saturday.

    Shore toyota FTMFW!

Geez too many tranny failures on the manuals. Toyota needs to figure that shit out. That's just not right.

Yea man, it really is disconcerting.... I am going to have to find out exactly when wrong, and why they think it could be so it doesn't happen again.

I am not going to baby my god damn truck.

Toyota just called me about the short shifter (he called it a shim), asking if I had dropped anything in there when I installed it.

Told him it was a controlled environment, nothing fell in (and said you guys woulda found something in there if I had), I asked if the short shifter could affect my warranty, he said it could, I called bullshit, I said it says right on URD's site that it doesn't void it at all. I also said, why, do you think it caused the issue? He said he didn't know.... so I don't even know what the point of that phone call was. I then mentioned that this issue started happening WELL before I installed that, which is the absolute truth. I welcomed him to have anyone he wants to, call and discuss this with me.

He said this fix was going to be a "one time thing"... yea, whatever dude, it happens again, and I am under warranty, you WILL fix it again.

So, basically, they have no idea wtf happened, something came lose and "bounced around in there" per the director that called me.

Then he asked if I service it myself, I said yes (not sure what that had to do with it).

Well, got my truck back, here is what was replaced:
    -Transmission and slave cylinder
    -Trans assembly R&R
    - Trans unit AS
    - Bearing assy, clutch
    - Support release for cyl, gaskets, and a nut lock

In total it was over 5 grand in work, and I saw on the price sheet that they did some TSB's as well, one I assume is the new TOB, but my steering feels a lot tighter too, so I wonder if they fixed that part as well...

So, I am happy with shore toyota, I coulda done without the director trying to lay the blame on me yesterday, but that is fine, he was probably just asking or making sure I didn't drop anything in it.
