I bought the Launch CRP123X OBD2 scan tool from Amazon so I could just read the live temp of the A/T fluid while doing the drain/fill. Go to the Car Care Nut channel on YouTube for this guys awesome and informative videos on Toyota and Lexus vehicles. I took my sweet time so I didn’t mess anything up and it was a breeze.

Haha! I want to help other owners that want to do this themselves. No I’m not getting paid/sponsored or selling this scan tool (it auto-added the pic in my post!) , I just thought it was a relatively cheap option for an Obd2 scanner to enable you to get the trans fluid temp…. I bought my Taco brand new in 21’ and have never taken it back to the dealership. I’ve done all my own maintenance mainly from the Car Care Nut channel, the repair manual I downloaded from TW, and a few others channels. The CCN guy is a Toyota master technician and now he has his own shop/channel. I’ve had zero issues with my truck w/ 62k miles on her.

Be sure you have the 3rd Gen Maintenance Map thread bookmarked.

Lot of great videos on there like this one (even though you finished your drain and fill).
