I'd be happy with those numbers but I won't get excited until I hear it from the horse's mouth.

Probably so. Getting pretty close to production start and still no hard info about hp, tq, mpg #s. Really makes you wonder what Toyota's game is.

We've just been going off 1st to 2nd gen start which was in August. I think 3rd gen should be the same. But I don't think Toyota has said anything official about that either, it has just been speculation.

We have to remember that the 2nd gen Tundra started production in December of 2006 and the 1st gen Tundra was produced til December too (very unusual). I don't think they would do that with the Tacoma but with the outgoing 2nd gen being such a good seller, they might.

I remember hearing late summer somewhere now that you mention it. And for it to start arriving at dealer lots in September. I don't think Ford published their new F-150 #'s until right before they started arriving on dealer lots. Guess they don't want the competition getting a clear target for their own specs.

Its not Toyota. I am guessing Some people are bored and just like messing with others.

279 torque would be pretty good though. Probably 6,000 RPM though. lol

My son could have edited that. Wikipedia is only as good as its references, and that comment isn't referenced.

I think it's pretty obvious what's going on here with the two engine codes, 2GR-FKS and the 7GR. One is male and the other is female.

That would be 318.7 horsepower. I'd take that as long as the torque curve was nice and flat.
